Dear Members,

As we reflect on 2024, it’s clear that this has been another strong year for our organisation and charity. We’ve continued to make progress across the board—from operational callouts to community engagement.

Our membership remains healthy, with over 60 members—nearly 60% of whom are actively involved across both counties and trained to standards recognised by local resilience forums. Our training programme has gone from strength to strength: following the introduction of Defra MOD 1 flood response certification last year, we’ve continued to build on that foundation in 2024. Looking ahead, we’re excited to launch LANTRA off-road driving training in the coming year as part of our ongoing development plan.

Our drone initiative, launched in 2022/2023 to support local resilience forums, has gained momentum this year. More members have undergone training to operate these systems, and their value was clearly demonstrated during the severe flooding in September. The team provided vital aerial imagery that was used as part of a multi-agency emergency response involving various category partners. Over the coming years, we plan to expand the capabilities of this team to ensure it remains a key asset in our operational toolkit.

From a financial perspective, 2024 has been both stable and successful. Our involvement in Todd in the Hole, alongside regular deployments to events with Runaway Adventures and Keech Hospice, has strengthened the charity’s financial footing. We’ve continued to invest in our infrastructure and capabilities, including SARSYS systems, training, and core equipment. Notably, we have also initiated the upgrade of our incident command unit—a significant project that will carry forward into next year.

Looking to the future, the trustees remain focused on defining the charity’s strategic direction over the next five years. Your feedback and engagement as members will be instrumental in shaping that journey. We are fortunate to have a passionate and capable committee, and the trustees would like to express their sincere thanks for the time, effort, and expertise they contribute.

Most importantly, we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued hard work, professionalism, and dedication. Your commitment is the driving force behind our progress and success, and we look forward to building on this strong foundation together.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Graham Norris, Jack Norris, Ross Pilgrim and Andy Hindhaugh

Dear All,

It’s been another fantastic year for the organisation as we continue to grow and strengthen our presence.

We started the financial year with a healthy opening balance of £22,598.22. Thanks to a strong renewal period and a steady stream of new members, we generated £850.00 from membership income alone.

Todd in the Hole remains one of our standout events, and this year it contributed over £5,750 in profit. A huge thank you goes to the members involved for their incredible efforts, and to the Todd in the Hole team for their continued support.

Our partnership with Runaway Adventures also continues to thrive. Their events brought in over £1,000 this year, significantly supporting our base operating costs.

We’ve also benefited from increased interest rates, accruing £253.80 in interest over the year.

A special mention must go to the Fundraising Team, who outdid themselves this year by raising just under £9,000 in donations. Thank you to everyone who contributed and to all those who donated so generously.

In terms of investment, we spent £1,620 on training for our members—broadening skills and enhancing our overall capability.

As a result of these factors, we closed out the 2024–2025 financial year with a closing balance of £32,553.06, and a net profit of £9,701.04.

Over the past few years, we’ve focused on building our reserves to enable us to grow further. Looking ahead, the coming financial year will see a significant investment aligned with our strategic direction. This includes the purchase of a new Command and Control Trailer, which will be partially offset by the sale of our current unit.

We will also continue to invest in training for our members. As our specialist capabilities grow, training costs will naturally increase. It’s important that we manage this carefully and ensure that resources are prioritised for those most actively involved.

Finally, I’d like to thank all our members and the management team for their dedication, hard work, and continued support throughout the year.

Please find the attached Profit & Loss sheet, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
