They are accessed by the local<br>community primarily at our rented suite of<br>meetng rooms in St Austell.<br>A smaller number of groups meet at other<br>commercial premises more suited to the needs<br>of the group such as dancing.<br>There is a good mix of both physically actve<br>interest groups such as Tai Chi, and groups<br>which are easily accessible to those with<br>mobility issues. Book Clubs are partcularly<br>popular, and the high numbers expressing<br>interest means that four groups are now<br>running.<br>More intellectually demanding groups such as<br>Bridge and languages are successful, and for the<br>able bodied there are both short walk and long<br>walking groups.<br>Paintng, singing, potery, drama, and ukulele<br>groups address the needs of artstcally inclined<br>members.<br>St Austell U3A recognises the issues faced by<br>older people who live on their own and a new<br>Interest Group has been set up specifcally to<br>address this.<br>New groups ofen get created through the<br>members cofee morning networking actvites<br>that take place twice a month, and through<br>presentatons by specialists in their feld such as<br>Shelter Box.|
