Imperial Library in Vienna to procure unpublished
manuscripts of the following:
Hoffmeister Franz Anton
Quartetto Nos 31, 33 & 35 in Eb major for Oboe, 2
viole + Basso
Quartetto Nos 32,& 36 in F major for Oboe, 2 viole +
Basso
Quartetto Nos 34 in D major for Oboe, 2 viole +
Basso
The cost to purchase pdf scans of these works was
66.93 Euros which was £49.16 which J F Proctor
paid for on 18thFebruary 2022 with a bank transfer.
She also purchased a copy of Went’s Concertante
Quartetto which was originally scored for Oboe,
Oboe Grande in G, Cor Anglais and Bassoon.
The aim is to rescore this for Oboe, Oboe d’Amore,
Cor Anglais and Bassoon to perform and record.
This is the first (and it seems only) 18thcentury
Double Reed Quartet to match the String Quartet.
