The Station Building, Mytholmroyd CIO Number 1174609

Annual Report 2021 to 2022 (March 31[st] )

We have shown over 200 guests around the building – resulting in some new interest for use when the refurbishment is complete.

There has been steady progress with the legal framework of the project.

The Heads of Terms were discussed, and agreement reached that the CIO would continue to be responsible for the interior fittings (including the windowpanes) and décor, with the railway responsible for the structure (including the window frames) and roofing and gutters.

We are awaiting the draft Lease from Network Rail.

Finances

We acknowledge the contribution from Northern Trains and the promise from the Railway Heritage Trust.

These formed a valuable introduction to the various funding applications that Secretary Sue has submitted over the last year.

Trustees

We record with sadness the death of our founder Trustee and valuable supporter, Father John Gott.

We also report with regret that our Treasurer, George Whittaker has resigned, due to changes in his personal circumstances following the death of his wife, Shirley.

We welcomed Anne Stamp onto the Board of Trustees – and look forward to her contribution.

Mentor and supporter Andy Savage, MBE has retired as Director General of the Railway Heritage Trust; his replacement, Tim Hedley-Jones is welcomed by all.

Kilmarnock; following Andy Savage’s recommendation - Chairman and Secretary visited the station; warmly welcomed by Allan Brown, Chairman of Kilmarnock Group. This is a much larger project, with a variety of users – therapy, bread-making, toy shop etc., with the emphasis on rehabilitation and community engagement.

Last, but not least, a really very big thank you to Secretary Sue for her tireless work and contribution towards the on-going success of this project.

Geoff Mitchell

Chairman
