## Blackpool Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Open Access Group ## **Annual Report and Accounts 2022** Despite the continuing knock-on effects of the pandemic in reducing numbers, 2022 was a busy year for the Open Access Group. We worked directly with 20 young people over the year, supporting them in gaining their awards as follows: 6 completing their Bronze 7 completing their Silver 5 completing their Gold Open Access Group activities over the year included: **February 15[th] – 16[th] Bronze Expedition/Adventure** (in a storm!) on Pendle Hill 6 young people completing their Bronze expedition ## **April 22[nd] – 24[th] Silver Expedition** Dentdale, Yorkshire Dales – Ayegill Pike area 7 young people completing silver expedition 8 Expedition Training days were run throughout the year in the Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales. 12 indoor climbing sessions to support the physical section of the Award. 3 days of summer activities including canoeing and hiking days. The young people in the OAG helped to plan and organise a Blackpool DofE Awards Event held in the Spanish Ballroom of the Winter Gardens. 200 people attended the event including local councillors, the mayor, parents and young people. 80 young people from organisations across Blackpool were presented with their DofE Award.
