Annual Report for the period 6-10-23 to 5-10-24
In this period, the Trust has continued to monitor the site and keep a record of trees which might need to be wholly or partly felled, with a view to contracting a tree surgeon to address the work.
The application for planning permission for housing adjacent to the Binhamy Castle Scheduled Ancient Monument was not be supported by the statutory authority responsible for the historic environment, and permission was refused. The applicant appealed the decision and in May 2024 won their appeal, meaning the mitigation requirements and financial contribution towards the Trust did not have to be made. This has disappointed Trustees.
Two people expressed a wish to join the Trust as Trustees and would be officially appointed at the Annual General Meeting.
Funds were expended on insurance for the site and the booking of rooms for Trust meetings.
The funds stand at £51,784.17
