Binhamy Castle Trust
Annual Report for the period 5-10-22 to 5-10-23
In this period, the Trust has continued to address the issue of trees which could pose a danger to those visiting the site. Accordingly, Sharp Tree Surgeons were again contracted to address a number of trees in April 2023.
Negotiations continue regarding the provision of parking for visitors at the site.
In this period an application for planning permission for housing adjacent the Scheduled Ancient Monument was submitted to the planning authorities. The Trust was approached to discuss a financial contribution that could be made to mitigate any impact. Ultimately, the statutory authority with responsibility for the historic environment could not support the proposed housing application. We anticipate a revised scheme being submitted for planning permission.
Other expenses included insurance of the site.
The funds stand at £52,097.78
