Loddon Valley Lions CIO Registered Charity Number:_- 1174565 Accounts for year 1st July 2022 to 30 June 2023 Accounts prepared by Lion Geoff Foan. Treasurer 2022-2023

Summary ofAccounts The accounts for Loddon Valley Lions CIO along with the Independent Examinerfs report are Shown on the next four page5. The Independent Examinerfs report is shown on page 3. There are three separate accounts, the results for each are shown over the followlng three pages. These are a Charity Account, an Operational Account, and an Administrats'on Account. The account period is from l Juty 2022 to June 2023. The Charity Account for the year. shown In the first of the account pages sho¥vs all the charrty payments that were made during the year. There is one anomaly: a wheelchair payment whith should have been made from the Charity Account, was in fact made from the Administration Attount in error. This money was later refunded into the Administration Account from the Charlty Account The Operational AccounL shown after the Charity Account, holds all the money that is used to finance the fund-raising events run by the aub. The profft from these events is then passed into the Charlty Account that is used to support charitable causes. A deduction of 5% is made from the profft from eath of the everrts and ts retsined in the Operational Account. Thls money is used to malntain equipment whlch enables the fund-raisln8 events to be run. The Adminlstration Account is used to pay all the runnlng costs of the aub, and the cost of supportin8 the Club Infrastructure. It is financed by the members annual Subscriptions. The cover the c05t of District, Multiple DistriC(. and Intemational dues, and also the c05t of membership to the Sherborne St John Soclal aub that is used for Cub meeting5. Paylng this local membership fee means that the aub can use the dub facilities for meetings and other events without further payment. The Club raises fund5 by runnin8 a number of events, two of which are annual events which raise most of the Clubs finances. The first of the ￿ents is the Santa Christmas Float, which Is run for about 19 days from the 1st December to 22 December. and covers a major part of the Loddon Valley area. In addition. a collection wa5 arranged this year at a local supemiarket on Chrlstma5 Eve. The second major event is a country fair, named the Tad[￿ Treade Falr, whith loddon Valley have been running for more than 30 years. The event is run in June each year, and it should be noted that the current account Statements show the payment of the profft from the 2022 event. The payment of the proffts from the 2023 event will be transferred once the accounts have been finalised.

These two events raise most of our revenue, although there are a few smaller events including a local golf competition and qulz nights that help to bolster the aub's funds. The Charlty Account for this year shows that more than £25,(KXI was raised this year, with a total of over £26.OLKI being donated to charitable causes. Most of this money goes to our local communty, supporting youth activities and the welfare of local people. A total of £2,410 was sent to Lion5 Clubs International Foundation to support Lions work in areas where famine or natural disasters have impacted the local population. The pro8ramme for 2023-2024 is likety to be very similar to the year reported. wlth the Chrlstmas Float and the Tadley Treacle Fair bein8 the major fund-raisin8 events, with a number of events providing smaller profits. butwhich may help the Club in temis of publlaty. Certainly, the Golf Competition and smaller events such 35 Qulz Nlghts and Race Nights will be used to help to raise the club's profile in the community generalty. Finally, It should be noted that despite the reduction in aub numbers due to age related Issues, the Club has continued to run the current events with help from the local community. In the longer temi thls may well help to provide a route to finding new members from withln the communlty, and to help strengthen the aub generally.
