## **Annual Report of Mountsorrel Museum and Heritage Trust**

## **2021/2022**

In common with village museums across the UK the aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic has left its mark and many of our village activities have ground to a halt plus the sad loss of some of our villagers and supporters.

One of our significant sources of income is our village ‘Revival Day’ and this has not happened for two years. Thankfully this will be “revived” this year in August 2022 (2020 and 2021 were cancelled) and will allow us all to draw a line under 2020 and 2021 and move forward.

We are currently running an exhibition in our museum regarding the Mountsorrel Village Green and its occupants over the ages which has proved both interesting and stimulated a lot of memories to our visitors.

We are now working on our next exhibition which will cover the Mountsorrel Quarry. Mountsorrel granite has been quarried from Roman times right through to the present day and we are currently preparing an exhibition which will cover the people who worked in the quarry and the roads, railway(s) and river which distributed the stone products throughout the UK.

We continue to have our monthly meetings with guest speakers and members of our group on various subjects which continue to stimulate and enlighten both members and visitors.
