Objèctlves and activities
The charity's objectives are to preserve and protect the health of sufferers of mesothelioma asbeslos related
conditions and diseases and their families. dependants and carers by.. providing or assisling in the provision of
equipmenl, facilities and seNices not normally provided by the slalutory authorities,. Providing financial assistance,
support and practical advice,. advancing the education of the general public in all areas relating to mesolhelloma
asbestos related conditions and disèas8S.
Public bangfit
The Trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the
charity should undertake.
Activities
The charity aims to meet its objectives by ralsing money through selling dolhing that people have donated.

Reserves policy
11 is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have nol been designated for a specific use should be
maintained at a level equivalent lo be￿een three and six month's expenditure. The Trustees consider that reseNes
at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the charity's
current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised.
This year, there have been exceptional costs related lo repairs and maintenance, which have impacted the
reserves. As a result, the target reserve level has not been met. However. the Trustees are confident Ihat, excluding
these one-off costs, the charity will be able to rebuild reserves to the desired level over the course of the next
financial year.
Major risks
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
place lo mitigate exposure to the major risks.
Structure, governance and management
The charity is a company limited by guarantee.
The Trustees, who 2re also the directors for the purpose of company law, and who seNed during the year and up to
the date of signature of the financial statements were..

report to the Trustees on my examination of Ihe finanaal slalemenls of Asbeslos Related Conditions-Allied
Industrial Diseases (A CHARITABLE COMPANY LIMITED BY GUARANTEE) (Ihe charity) for the year ended 31
January 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the Trustees of the charity {and also its directors for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for Ihe
preparation of the finanrial stalements in accordance V￿th the requirements of the Companies Act 2006.
Having satisfied myself that the financial statements of the charity are not required to be audited under Part 16 of
the Companies Act 20Q6 and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of the
charity's financial st8lemenls carried out under section 145 of the Charitiès Act 2011. In carrying out my examination
I have followed the Directions glven by the Charily Commission under section 145(5)(b) of th8 Charities Act 2011.

GUARANTEE) is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and Wales. The registered
offic8 is 9 The Junction, Slourbridge, DY8 4YD.
1.1 Accounting conventlon
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wilh the charity's governing document, the
Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Praclice
applicable lo charities preparing their accounls in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102). (as amended for accounting periods commencing
from 1 January 2016). The Charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The charily has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities applying FRS 102 Update Bulletin
1 not lo prepare a Slatement of Cash Flows.
The flnancial slalements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convenlion. The prinapal accounting
policies adopted are sel out below.
1.2 GoSng con¢ern
At the lime of approving the financial stalements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charily
has adequate resources to ¢Ot)tinue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees
continua to adopt the going conc£rn basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitsble funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use 8t the discretion of th8 Trustees in furtherance of their charilable
objectives.
Reslricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as lo how they may ba used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are sel out in the noles to the financial slatements.
Endowment funds are subjed to specific conditions by donors that the Capital must be malntained by the
charity.
1.4 Incomg
Income is recognised when Ihe charity is legatty enlilled lo it after any perfoTmance conditions have been mot,
the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on re¢elpt. Other donations are recognised once the charity has been nolified
of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income lax recoverable in
relation lo donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognlsed al the time of the donation.
Legacies are recognised on re￿Ipl or Othe￿Ise if the charity has been notified of an impending distribulion,
the amount is known, and receipt is expected. If the amount is not known, the legacy is treated as a
contlngent asset.

1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to Iransfer economic benefit lo a
third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of
the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is classified by aclivity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct cosls and
shared costs. including support costs invofved in Ltndertaking each aclivily. Direct costs allribulable lo a single
aclivily are allocated directly to that aclivily. Shared costs which contribute to more than one activity and
support costs which are not allributable lo a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a basis
consislenl with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of lime spent, and
depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's use.
1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held al call with banks, olhèr short-term liquid
investments with original malurilies of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in current liabilities.
