Donations
In this 12-month period the club had an income of £7,648.98.
We continued to provide service activities where possible including members of the
club assisting wrth communty activities supporting the vulnerable. We were able to
support three families after been contacted by other organisations, providing in one
case emergency funds and in two cases the purchase and fittings of washing
machines to families in crisis. Our Sants Sleigh was successful again this year. We
changed things slightly because of local li￿nsIng arrangements. Bames Explorer
Scouts got a li￿n￿ to cover some extra days in a second week and banked
£696.00, this accounts for slightty lower takings this year being shown inn the
accounts and the fact there was no other donation to Bames Explorer Scouts.
The CIO donated £1,781 to Lions Clubs Intemational Charities during this period,
including £500 to the disaster appeal for Turkeylsyria earthquake..
The CIO have supported local causes to the sum of £1.851, including donating £500
to Brompton Juniors u14 football tearn.
During the year the CIO also helped to marshal the Yorkshire Lasses Bike Ride (no
fee as all their income go to Can￿r Charities). the Moors and Dales Run (MaDRun)
over the Yorkshire Moors from Swainby and at Kiplin Hall, just outside Northallerton
and assisting Knaresborough Lions on their bed race day.
The CIO continues to ty and recruit new members however this is proving to be a
challenge.
Membershi
Membership of the CIO at the end of June 2023 was 7 active members. Members
meet once per month and take part in the social and fundraising activities of the CIO.
