The Trustees rneet 8 minimum of thTee titnes a year, or mott when required to consider all matt¢rs
pertaining to the t¢rforn)ance of the charity. The Trustees have no dirert involvement with the day-tO-
day operation of any of its schools. Yunus Bobat is the cbair of Gatton SchooL Al-Risalah Boys.
School and Al-Risalah Girls School. Mr Maksud Gangat is the Chair of Orchard Primary School.

The quality of Al-Risalah Nursery and Ix)th sewndaThT scbcN)Is for boys and girls continuei to
remain good I￿1th n￿lY outstanding elements. The school Cu￿1cul￿M is creative, broad and
balanced. Pupils are oftered enrichmert opwrtimities and careers guidance. All stakeholders
are pleased with the Nut3cry al￿ Secondary School. Staff are supported wryth professional
dcvelopment opportunities. The latest Ofsted rew)rt (Feb 25) for girls" schools and nursery
stated:
"Pupils feel a real sense of belonging in this sch(x)l. Tbey appreciate the shared valll¢s and
ethos among the small school community. Pupils get to know each other well. They forge
trusting relationship with staff. The scbool tskes ¢att of its pupils and provides a nurturing
environment. Pupils are polits and respKcthil. tK)th to their classjnates and to slaff. Teachers
are quick to help pupi]s r¢solve any o¢casional friendship issues. Pupils condu¢t themselves

"In the Nursery, staff work closely with families to help cbildren settle into new routines.

for Reception. The school meets all th¢ standards of the early years foundation stsge and th¢
requirements of s¢hedule 10 of the Equality. Act 2010-.
Gatton School was ins• in July 2024.The overa]l judB¢ment w&$ -outstanding-. The
report stated:
"Pupils love coming to Gatton (VA) PTimarv School. Staff and pupils celebrate and Cmkndy
the Muslim ¢thos which is central to tbe life of the school. Pupils are well mami¢r¢d and

helps to ensure that pupi15 feel safe and are kept safe at school. PupiIs benefit from an

of the fait￿ which is evident in the teamwork shosvn by the Headteacher, the Director of
Education at the Al Risalah T￿￿ and the Elamic Studies team"
ch￿ Volunlary Aided Schools (Gatton and 0￿h￿l) are overly subwibed and popular within
th¢ community. Results of Ix)th sch(xils There outstanding. LA consulrant reports ¢onfirm both
schools are perforniing ¢xceptioD21ty well with results of both schools well above the national
average in most categories.
The Tn￿t continue5 to provide valuable ser4ice to all Trust schools including IM)th Gatton VA
Primary Schwl and Orchard VA primary school. This is done through school gov¢rnallc¢.
Islamic studies provisioll. Imam Support and consultancy se￿1¢e5. These services are popular
and add great value to Trust ￿hoOls.
In June 2024, the Tn￿t in partnersbip with all trust schoo15 and the local community organised
a street paty with all fimds donated to St Georges Hospital clwity.

The Trust seeks to advance the education of all children irrespective of rnce, religion, creed or cultural
heritage and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wekn of students and expects all staff
and voluntecrs to share this commilmenL It is important to us that a¢ces5 to the education we offer is
not restricted to those who can afford our fees.

The recrnitment and induction of new TTUStees lies with the TnLSt. TTUStees are responsible for seeking
suitsble applicants with a range of skills. experiences and commitments who will be an asset to the
hatity in its establishment and growth. New appliwts ate recruited through advertisement oo the
Trust website, folloTred by circulation of their CV to all TTUStees and a full discussion being held at an
appropriate Board meeting for bis Iher recruÉtment. In makinq the appointmenL the Board looks at the
skills, qua]ifications, rclevant experience. time ¢ommilmeDL suitsble ref¢rences and most importantly
sharing the vision of th¢ Trust. The T￿t is CODMIItt￿ to equa]ily diversity within th¢
orgarlisqtion. The ¢UTrent Board consists of people from community. educatio￿ mosque. theological.
fU￿]cial, marketing, building4 hwnan resources and Chatitable backgrounds, all of whom bring the
necessary expertise to tbe work of th¢ ¢haTity.
RISK MANAGEMEiYr
The T￿￿eeS bav¢ examined thoroughly business and operational risks whicb the charity faces and
onf]rms that systejns have been estsblished to eDable re￿llar reports io be produced so that necessary
steps can be takell to avoid these risks.
To protect against anv finallcial Misappropriatio￿ trustees and accounting staff regularly monitor and
supervis¢ the financial atTaiT3 of the charity.
We are of the opinton that these M￿sUre5 are appropriate to the CbariW5 size and the nature of its
operatiolls.

The regular income of the chartt! was mainly derived froTn indqKndent school's f¢¢s, from Ch￿tty
services to the 2 VA Schools and Wandsworth Borough Coullcil 8rallt for Nursery &$ pet head count.
RESERVES POUCY
The Trustees considers holding Unrestricted reser¥es gjnounting ro approximately three months,
average exp¢ndittLre. At thi5 l¢v¢l. the Tn￿e¢S feel they would be able to ￿ntInue the cuttejrt
activities of the charity in th¢ event of a significant drop in funding.
Some of the Trustees are also the Trustees of Th¢ Ball￿n Mosqu¢, theTefore the two cEtarities wotk
very clos¢ly for the wclfare of the community. Th¢ fouDdarion of Al-Risalah Education Trust was laid
undcr the auspices of "ITh¢ Balbam Mosque. The TnLSt Secondary School i8 based in Th¢ Ballwn
Mosque building TootiEEg Islamic centre.

The accounts have been prepared uader the historical wst convention and in accordance with
applicable United Kingdom accounting standards and the requirements of the Stat¢m¢nt of
Reeonllnend¢d Practice 'Accounting a]Jd Reporting by Charities. issued in Mawh 2005 (SORP
2005).

of the trust to Continue as a going coneern. The Trustees make this assessment in respect ofeach

Incoming Resources
