Our theme for 2020: Move into what you see Mark 11 v 23

We welcomed the New Year in and we were looking forward to a fabulous year. We began the with 21 days of prayer and fasting.

Pastor Ryan & Pastor Jamie has written to them and spoke to various individuals who have left the fellowship.

We welcomed our new resident Pastors Devon Mckenzie and Marvis McKenzie.

Pastor Ryan Pastor Jamie and Jerimiah will be leaving this month for South Florida USA. A new Awaken Church will be established there.

Our Food bank is operating each Tuesday 12noon till 2pm, volunteers are helping to run it.

Unfortunately, during the month March our church will not be meeting in the church building from the Sunday 22[nd] March 2020. There is world pandemic of a disease called Coronavirus or Covid -19 that has spread across the world and is contagious and there has been a lot of fatalities.

All public gathering is prohibited, schools, restaurants, bars the country is on lockdown for the next couple of months.

Some of our church family has had bereavements, we are keeping them in prayer.

Awaken Church and many others church are meeting online, (we the people are the church) we meet each Sunday 12.30 pm and Wednesday 7 pm for Life Group or Bible Study.

Minister and Leaders are taking an active Role in each service.

It was good to have an Appreciation Day for our Pastors, where we showered them with the encouraging words, poems and gifts.

The Month of December we celebrated our 4[th] Church Anniversary, via zoom.
We are still currently meeting online via zoom and on face book for Sunday worship, Life group on Wednesday and for Intercessory Prayers on Friday.
Our food Bank is currently not meeting at the church, however we have been collecting non-perishable goods and distributing them to our neighbours. We are also in contact with other food banks operating in our area.

The team has been promoting the church and all its events on Face book, twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram.
Praise & Worship – the team is doing an excellent job.
We also use Churchsuite(app) to inform those on our database about what is taking place and when.
Building

We are unable to meet in the building because we are still under the government restrictions of lockdown.

Repairs to the building where necessary.
Life Group
Mission of Life Groups: To be Fruitful, Multiply and Subdue the City.
We meet each week and hear wonderful testimonies, we study the word and pray together.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of the financial statements for the period ended 30 November 2018 in accordance with Section 475 of the Companies Act 2006

1 STATUTORY INFORMATION
AWAKEN CHURCH is a private company, limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page
2 ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Theses financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A “Small Entities” of Financial Reporting Standard 102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes
Taxation
Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognized in the Income Statement, except to the extent it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits
