Church History and Status
4square Gospel Church, Power & Authority Sanctuary as a registered charity organisation in the United Kingdom continue to function purely within the scope of its charitable status since its inception and registration.
Operations
The church continues to engage in the propagation of the Christian faith within the community within Birmingham and its environs.
Pandemic: During the period under review, the church gave financial support to some members of the church who lost their means of livelihood due to Covid 19 pandemic. This was possible as a result of the £10000 grant received from Birmingham City Council. We were able to pay arrears of energy bills since there was lockdown. The church had virtual WhatsApp church services for about three Sundays. We could not sustain it due to poor attendance. The frontage of the church used to be a refuse dumping ground by the neighbours within the community. We put slabs on it shortly after the lockdown was lifted.
November 2021, the roof of the church ripped open and the whole place of worship was flooded. We remain resilient and worshipped God in the flood, even celebrated Christmas in the flood and no light in the building. Not until February 2022 before we could get an Artisan (builder) to fix the roof. The renovation of the church was completed in May 2022.
The impact of Covid 19 on the church cannot be quantified. We lost a Pastor and a sister to another Pastor passed away. The church was able to minister to the relatives that were bereaved financially. The church participated in the burial through Zoom and WhatsApp virtual platforms.
We are glad to say that by May and June last year, we welcomed some new members into the church. They are migrants from Africa who came in pursuit of academic and a family relocated from Nigeria to UK due to work. However, some members of the Board of Trustees left the church.
On the 30[th] of April, we had our Annual General Membership Meeting after which we elected new officers to the Foursquare Gospel Church Council and they will also serve as members of the Board of Trustees on the platform of the Charity Commission of England.
The following were elected, ratified by and prayed for by the entire members of the church.
1. Pastor Mike Taiwo- Chairman of the Council / Board of Trustees.
2. Pastor Rose Taiwo – Member of the Board of Trustees.
3. Brother Omoniyi Modede- Church Secretary & Member of the Board of Trustees.
4. Brother Olusola Dada- Church Treasurer & Member of the Board of Trustees.
As a charity, the church supports:
Projects and goals which are aimed at relieving the effect of poverty on the less privileged, as well as bridging the links among the diverse people of our communities.
Future strategy and policy
The trustees are satisfied that the charity has sufficient resourses to maintain its current activities and hope that the congregation will grow and increase naturally with time.
