THE TRUSTEES
The Trustees who served the charity during the period were as follows:
Yasin Abdirizak Ali, Jalfar Abdirahman, Ishaq Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Mousa Wais, Abdi Mire Musa, Ismail Salah Hussein, Hashim Ali Kamanzi, and Mohamed Ali Abbas
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT, OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
In setting out the objectives and planning the activities, the Trustees have given careful consideration to complying with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have regard to the public benefit guidance published by the charity Commission,
All our project and services have continued to grow as well as some new benefitting the community.
In keeping with the objectives, we continue to develop our facilities for advancement of the religion of Islam, advancement of education for local community people.
The charity carried out wide range of activities in pursuance of its charitable objectives. The Trustees consider that these activities have benefitted the wider community of Northamptonshire.
The Centre main objective is to provide spiritual guidance for the Muslim community at large and wishes to cater for the social, cultural, and educational needs of the Muslims of Northamptonshire and thus engaged in education, welfare and other Islamic activities.
The other objective is to disseminate authentic knowledge about Islam from the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah and from the understanding of the pious predecessors and to provide for non-Muslims with a better and clearer understanding of Islam and strengthen Islamic unity and assist in the development of the Muslim community of Northamptonshire.
The mission of Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre is to be highly regarded provider of resources to the children and families. We strive to support, educate, protect, and extend opportunities and services to those who may be vulnerable and undeserved.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCES
Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre continue to progress to deliver number of projected activities.
The Mosque is always open for all congregational prayers every day of the year. Unlike other Mosques around the area wo only open during prayer times, our Mosque is always open and this has facilitated a greater number of people turning up for prayers.
More people are attending our Mosque to perform the Friday prayers to the extend the space now is not enough as many worshippers have to pray outside on Fridays.
We manage to achieve the following:

Ramadan daily Iftaar Program one of our annual program, and it was another successful one again especially those with no families,

It was better organised this year as we managed to allocate a chef who prepared the meal in house. We also had donors and contributors who were supporting the Iftaar whether in cash in providing meals.

Special Saturday Iftaar programs in the fasting month of Ramadan was also held by the Mosque every Saturday during the fasting month of Ramadan. We managed to invite speakers to deliver talks and then Muslim community coming together at the Mosque. One of the decisions we took from next year is it is up to the Masjid to oversee the whole project as currently done under the two communities Al - Iman and Taawun

We decided to appoint Digital Campaign Manager for our social media platforms so our presence is felt on Social media platforms, Instagram, You tube, Facebook. Tiktok and X Daily and also managing digital Donations like last Ramadhan. This and the presence of the Mosque’s App where we have increased subscribers from 5000 to 7000.

The presence of Digital Campaign Manager boosted our Ramadan Fundraising programs, even Zakaatul Fitr and Udhiyah - Qurbani collection was done directly from the App making easy for our brothers and sisters to donate towards these easily

We manage to hold our fourth health awareness day Program in July 2025 where local Muslim Doctors gathered at the Mosque to provide Health check including Blood Pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, body weight and giving advice to medications. Many people attended Muslims despite adverse weather conditions. One of the positive aspects of the program is other Mosques took notice of its importance and requested to do it in their Mosques.

Eid in the Park 2025, one of our annual events, was held successfully once in April at the Northampton Racecourse. The second Eid in the Park in June 2025 was cancelled due to rain and this was held at the Mosques where we conducted two Eid Prayers with another good attendance.

We managed to install state of the art new sound system costing over £10,000 to address the ongoing sound issues at the Mosque especially during daily prayers and when holding programs and Friday prayers

We also agreed to to extend Sister’s building costing over £7000.00 thus creating more spaces for our ever growing number of sisters attending the Mosque.

We had an occasion to meet Council Community Liaison Officers who visited our Mosque and and advised willingness to help connect with Youth Worker, link up with Planning staff and providing support towards our activities.
CHALLENGES
Overall, in 2025, Our extension building work continued at a very slow pace that started in 2024. We had an agreement with the builder to complete the work in 24 months however this is not the case due to delay in delivering the projected works at agreed timescales.
The first-floor mezzanine structure still under construction and as manually done has delayed the progress thus
1 Face-to-face Madrasah teaching set up is still closed and classes are online with all the challenges we have to encounter for the second year running.
Though used as an alternative, online settings are not the best in disseminating the knowledge but due to safety measures we had no option. Number of students attending classes online have drastically gone down as some parents decided to move their children in other Madrasas and Maktabs.
2 Some of our programs have to be put on hold like Mosque tours, Youth club and periodic talks and lectures due to safety measures until the building is complete. This also have left us with serious implications in bringing youth to the vicinity of the Mosque and once turned away it becomes difficult bringing them again.
3 So many schools continue to query about Mosque tours and we were unable to confirm their bookings and we had to cancel the prebooked ones as well as the building is not yet ready to accommodate Mosque tours.
- The Trustees received a charity commission warning in respect of incident happened in 2023 where we were deemed be non-compliant in some of our policies and thus we have to take further actions in terms of our policies and Trustees Legal Duties.
The Trustees treated this issue with action by conducting internal inspection to see Policies we have and what we are lacking. We contacted Empower Charity for guidance and have since updated our policies for charity compliance and Trustees undertaking further training to accommodate the same.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The income is generated from donations collected from Muslim people and Islamic organisations.
