THE TRUSTEES
The Trustees who served the charity during the period were as follows:
Yasin Abdirizak Ali, Jalfar Abdirahman, Ishaq Ahmed Ali, Ahmed Mousa Wais, Abdi Mire Musa, Ismail Salah Hussein, Hashim Ali Kamanzi, and Mohamed Ali Abbas
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT, OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
In setting out the objectives and planning the activities, the Trustees have given careful consideration to complying with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have regard to the public benefit guidance published by the charity Commission,
All our project and services have continued to grow as well as some new benefitting the community.
In keeping with the objectives, we continue to develop our facilities for advancement of the religion of Islam, advancement of education for local community people.
The charity carried out wide range of activities in pursuance of its charitable objectives. The Trustees consider that these activities have benefitted the wider community of Northamptonshire.
The Centre main objective is to provide spiritual guidance for the Muslim community at large and wishes to cater for the social, cultural, and educational needs of the Muslims of Northamptonshire and thus engaged in education, welfare and other Islamic activities.
The other objective is to disseminate authentic knowledge about Islam from the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah and from the understanding of the pious predecessors and to provide for non-Muslims with a better and clearer understanding of Islam and strengthen Islamic unity and assist in the development of the Muslim community of Northamptonshire.
The mission of Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre is to be highly regarded provider of resources to the children and families. We strive to support, educate, protect, and extend opportunities and services to those who may be vulnerable and undeserved.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCES
Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre continue to progress due to increase number of activities.
The Mosque is always open for all congregational prayers every day of the year and more people are attending our Mosque to perform the Friday prayers to the extend the space now is not enough as many worshippers have to pray outside on Fridays.
We manager to achieve the following:

Winter Conference was held successfully in December 2023

Ramadan Iftaar Program was yet again another outstanding program as huge number of Muslims attended again.

Special Iftaar programs in the fasting month of Ramadan was held daily for many Muslim residents of Northampton who by one way or another are single or do not have a family gathered at the Mosque to break their fast.

Our social media platforms have been very active in disseminating information and showcasing our activities especially NMIC app which has gained more people downloading the app to receive up to date information regarding various activities we are undertaking and knowing prayer’s times.

We manage to hold our second health awareness day Program in July 2023 where local Muslim Doctors gathered at the Mosque to provide Health check including Blood Pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, body weight and giving advice to medications. Many people attended Muslims and non Muslims as the event was open to all.

Eid in the Park, one of our annual events, was held successfully at the

Northampton Racecourse, over 2000 people attended.

The home schooling program continued to grow as many parents are using

our facilities every Thursday.

The special congregational prayers during Ramadan – Taraawih was also

attended very well.

After successful launch of male Youth club in 2022 and following request from female youth we were able to establish Female Youth club at the Mosque and our young female Muslims attend the Club every Friday afternoon for a get together and activities.
Overall, 2023 was a year we embarked on fundraising drive to raise funds for our extension plans as.

People are praying outside on Fridays as the Mosque is full.

In the Ramadan, the Mosque was not able to accommodate brothers and sisters who attended the night prayer
The building work is projected to start at the beginning of the year 2024 and will take 2 years to complete
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The income is generated from donations collected from Muslim people and Islamic organisations.
We have done extremely well in raising substantial amount of money during the fasting month of Ramadan but yet to hit our target.
