## ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCES

Northampton Mosque and Islamic Centre continue to progress and grow despite having the pandemic from March 2020 that led to the closure of the Mosque for the period of three months.

One of the positive achievements during the lockdown is we were able to form the Northamptonshire Council of Mosques and worked together during the lockdown to

have uniform set of procedures and protocols within all Mosques in Northamptonshire in handling the covid spread.

Part of these agreement was to make sure we have uniform set of policies and agreed timescale when opening the Mosques so as not to create confusion among the Muslims community.

Part of the agreement was to use our Ghus! Khana — our washing room for the deceased who succumbed to covid 19 pandemic as it fulfilled the health regulations and guidelines from NHS England.

This has also contributed to the renewed trust from our community members seeing their loved are being taken care here locally instead of chasing these services elsewhere.

Some of our activities have to be transferred to online platforms during the lockdown and once the lockdowns were eased, we were able to run limited activities at the Mosque due to stricter regulations and social distancing measures.

Even after the opening of the Mosque in June 2020 with strict regulations and restrictions, many of our activities have to be postponed due to the pandemic. The following list below illustrates the activities that has to be cancelled due to covid and lockdown measures.

- e The Mosque was not open for all congregational prayers from March 2020. e Ramadan program was cancelled due to complete lockdown. e Our Eid in the park program was also cancelled for the same reason

- e The special congregational prayers every night during fasting month of Ramadan was also cancelled.

- e Our Winter and Easter annual conferences was cancelled.

- e Face to face teaching of our students was cancelled and classes we conducted online

- e Our Youth Programs were cancelled, and these were not conducted online at all

- e Our fundraising events in Ramadan was seriously impacted by the lockdown

One of the many impacts the lockdown has on our Mosque was our planning permission approval to develop the Mosque and create additional floor to accommodate more congregants due to the growing demands.

However, our plans to raise funds during the fasting month of Ramadan was curtailed as we were in total lockdown from March to June 2020. Even our online appeal was not able to generate required funds for the period.

## FINANCIAL REVIEW

The income is generated from donations collected from Muslim people and Islamic organisations.

However, in this financial year, due to lockdown and limited number of congregants visiting the Mosque due to social distances our financial position was severely impacted as our main source of income was donations from brothers and sisters who visit the Mosque to perform the daily prayers and in particular Friday which is the busiest day of the week.

The incoming resources are detailed and explained upon in the financial statements.

Signed on behalf of the trustees

Yasin Abdirizak Ali
