| Section D | Achievements andperformance | |
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year |
1.Membership Our current membership is slightly higher than last year at 30 members with about 16-18 at most meetings. I would also like to mention that two of our members are also regular members of Age Concern Lunch Club. 2.Publicity We have had regular adverts and a number of articles in the Village Magazine. Our website brings a number of enquiries and contacts one of whom was a Trainee Journalist from Highbury College, Cosham, who visited and interviewed some of us then came to our Open Day where he videoed the activities for his coursework. The local Facebook group also mentions and varies entries which we put online ourselves. We also donated raffle prizes to Southbourne School PTA and helped at Chidham School. 3.Fundraising We received a generous bequest from the Will of Mr John Vincent Lobb of £970. We also received a donation of a quantity of products from Ronseal and are anticipating more. Since the last AGM we have attended selling opportunities at Sbn Village Hall, Emsworth Marina May Sale, the jumble trail and a good Christmas sale table at Sbn Farm Shop and we have just had a successful day at the 2024 Village Hall Spring Sale. Of course the success of any sale opportunity requires stock and the production of appropriate stock requires everybody’s help. 4.10 th Anniversary Celebration In March last year we sent a history of the early days of our Shed to the UK MSA supporting our 10thanniversary which we celebrated an Open Day on 7thOctober when we were presented with a plaque by Rob Lloyd, the UK MSA Chair of Trustees. Our many visitors included members’ families and friends. 5.Premises In June we took over the Age Concern former shop, which is now used for assembly and storage of sale items. At that point we began a repair and refurbishment programme to tidy up our premises in time for our October Open Day - now is the time to start again and finish the work we began last year. |
