LEAPGATE ACTIVITY CENTRE TRUSTEES. REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 The Trustees present their report and financial statements for Ihe year ended 31 December 2024. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to Ihe financial statements and comply with the Charity's constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) "(effective from 1 January 2019). Objectives and activities The Charily's objects are lo advance education, promote learning for pleasure and relieve need for people with learning disabilities through the provision of educational activities and the continued development of their individual capabilities. compelences, skills and understanding in subjects and areas of educational and recreational value and there has been no change in these during the year. In carrying out the objectives as described, the Trustees feel that the charity has complied wilh its duty in section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. Achievements and perfomiance There are now fifty participants who engage in weekly sessions to learn culinary and catering ski115, animal care, horticulture, craft and woodwork. A further twenty participants access the facilities by attending classes. Financial review The results for Ihe year are set out on page 5. The Charity has generated a surplus this year which consists of unrestricted funds to be carried forward to the next financial year. During this year the Charity has continued to maintain income levels to enable it to continue and improve its charitable activilies. Risk management The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed. and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks. Structure, governance and management The Charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation {CIO) whose only voting members are its Charity Trustees. The Trustees who served during the year and up to the date of signalure of the financial statemenls were.. Mr J Handley Mrs M Handley Mrs J Jones MrWG Green Apart from Ihe first charity truslees, every trustee must be appointed. for a term of four years, by a resolulion passed at a properly convened meeting of the charily truslees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skill, knowledge and experience needed for Ihe effective administration of the CIO. The charity trustees will make available to each new charity trustee, on or before his or her first appointment a copy of the Gurrent version of this constitution and a copy of the CIO'S latest Trustees. Annual Report and statement of accounts. None of the Trustees has any beneficial inlerest in the company. All of the Trustees are members of the company and guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.

Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the Charity for that year. In preparing these financial statements. the Trustees are required to.. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently., - observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP" make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent- stste whether applicable accounting stsndards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements. and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The charity trustees must comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 wlth regard to the keeping of accounting records. to the preparation and scrutiny of statements of account, and to the preparation annual reports and returns. The statements of account, reports and returns must be sent to the Charity Commission, regardless of the incomes of the CIO within 10 months of the financial year end. The charity trustees must comply with their obligation to inform the commission within 28 days of any change in the particulars of the CIO entered on the Central Register of Charities. LEAPGATE ACTIVITY CENTRE INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LEAPGATE ACTIVITY CENTRE I report to the Trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Leapgate Activity Centre (the Charity) for the year ended 31 December 2024. Responsibilities and basis of report As the Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial stalements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {the 2011 Act). I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)Ib) of the 2011 Act. Independent examinerfs statement Your attention is drawn to the fact that the charity has prepared financial statements in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 in preference to the Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1 April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has now been withdrawn. l understand that this has been done in order for financial statements to provide a true and fair view in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2015. I have completed my examination. I confim that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect.. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act.. or the financial statements do not accord with those records., or the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports} Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. LEAPGATE ACTIVITY CENTRE NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 Accounting policies Charity information Leapgate Activity Cenlre is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission. 1.1 Accounting convention The financial statements have been prepared in accordan with the Charity's constitution. the Charilies Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities= Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS102)" (effective from 1 January 2019). The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102. The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the Charity. Monetary amounts in these financial stalements are rounded to the nearest £. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set oul below. 1.2 Going concern At the time of approving the financial statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. 1.3 Charitsble funds Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives. Restricted funds are subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements. 1.4 Income Income is recognised when the Charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts Gan be measured reliably, and it is probable Ihat income will be received. Cash donations are recognised on reipt. Other donations are recognised On the Charity has been notified of the donation. unless performan conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation. 1.5 Expenditure Expenditure is accounted for on an a¢cruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost relaled to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. 1.6 Tangible fixed assets Tangible fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any impairment losses. LEAPGATE ACTIVITY CENTRE NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024 AcGounting policies (Continued) The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset Is determined as the difference belween the sale proceeds and the carrying value of the asset, and is recognised in the statement of financial aclivities. 1.7 Impaimient of fixed assets At each reporting end date, the Charity reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible assets to determine whether there is any indication thal those assets have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists. the recoverable amount of the asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss (if any). 1.8 Cash and cash equivalents Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturilies of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities. 1.9 Financial instruments The Charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Financial Instruments, and Section 12 'Other Financial Instruments Issues. of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments. Financial inslruments are recognised in the Charity's balan sheet when the Charity becomes party to the contractual provisions of the instrument. Financial assets and liabilities are offset, with the net amounts presented in the financial stalements, when there is a legally enforceable right to set off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a net basis or to realise the asset and settle the liability simultaneously. 1.10 Employee benefits The cost of any unused holiday entitlement is recognised in the period in which the employee's services are received. Termination benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the Charity is demonstrably committed to teiminate the employment of an employee or to provide termination benefit5. 1.11 Retirement benefits Payments to defined contribution retirement benefit schemes are charged as an expense as they fall due. Critical accounting estimatss and judgements In the applicalion of the Charity's accounting policies, the Tru51ees are required to make judgements, estimates and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates. The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting estimates are recognised in Ihe period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of thè revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and fvture periods.

This was lo provide additional amenity facilities and an overall enhancement to the site. Depreciation is charged against the fund over the useful economic life of the assets. Lidl Community Fund These funds were given for improved food 51orage facilities with large industrial freezer and refrigerator.
