## Walkeringham Village Hall & Playing Field Report for y/e 30.4.25 

It has been a difficult year with the sudden loss of our treasurer but over the year things sorted themselves out.  The committee have been busy with fundraising activities providing for all ages within he village. Monthly activities include bingo, exercise classes, dancing , coffee mornings and knit and natter group to name but a few.  Dances with groups are held throughout the year.  Activities have taken place on the playing field including a car boot sale and of course the football. We provide a pop up facility with a food van at least twice a month and open our bar to enhance the communal event. 

The events put on are usually well attended by the villagers and the special one is the Over 60’s Christmas Party for which we subsidise the event and receive donations so we can also put some entertainment on. 

With the closure of our church, the village hall has been the venue for holding services for key times of the year and carols over the Christmas period. 

On an environmental issue, the committee took the decision to install solar panels and a battery to save costs over the long term.  This has proved extremely efficient and beneficial. 

We have had a successful year, only achievable by the hard work and long hours our committee members put in to the  running of this vibrant village hall and provide events and activities for both young and old, for Walkeringham and surrounding villages.
