The LCT provides opportunities for schools, local community users, established cricket clubs, nomadic cricket clubs, children and young persons. Specifically, the project encourages physical activity and social integration within local communities using the sport of cricket.
From April 2022 to April 2023, the LCT, assisted by the England and Wales Cricket Board, successfully installed 15 non-turf pitches and four net complexes in London (in 16 different parks). The LCT was then responsible for a further 19 new cricket facilities before the end of 2023. Plans are already under way for yet more facilities in 2024 and 2025.
