The London Cricket Trust (LCT) aims to promote and increase physical activity and participation in healthy recreation throughout London by providing facilities for playing cricket, specifically in the form of non-turf pitches, net complex’s and cricket starter equipment.
The LCT provides opportunities for schools, local community users, established cricket clubs, nomadic cricket clubs, children and young persons. Specifically, the project encourages physical activity and social integration within local communities using the sport of cricket.
From April 2020 to April 2021, the LCT, assisted by the England and Wales Cricket Board, successfully installed 19 non-turf pitches and net complexes in London (in 14 different parks). The LCT was then responsible for a further 25 new cricket facilities before the end of 2021. Plans are in place for yet more facilities in 2022.
To date, 66 schools across London have been the beneficiaries of free cricket starter kits that now enable the schools to expand their physical education programmes. Even more schools will receive starter kits in 2022.
The Charity holds no reserves and only incurs expenditure that is specifically covered by grants. (Starter kits and website) None.

NOTES
Equipment donations
This relates to new cricket equipment that is distributed to schools and junior clubs. Equipment is provided to schools and/or clubs who are in need of new equipment are also in the local vicinity of new London Cricket Trust facilities in order to increase cricket activation.

This relates to the new website which was commissioned and launched at the start of 2021. The aim of this is to increase awareness of new cricket facilities in local communities; to enable members of the public to voice their concerns or ideas for the future of cricket in their local area; and to provide a clearer booking process for London Cricket Trust facilities.

This was a donation from a school who raised funds for the charity at an open day.
