SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 MAOSZ primarily carries out its activities
by supporting its 52 member
organizations,
many of which are Saturday schools and
cultural organizations located throughout
the UK.
We also provide direct support to these
organizations when appropriate. All of
our office holders are volunteers based in
the UK.
We managed to organise all our planned
events as detailed in our Objectives
above.
Our teachers’ conference and community
leaders’ meeting provide a vital platform
for networking and collaboration. The
teachers’ conference also provides
practical help for teachers teaching
Hungarian language, history, folk
dancing and singing. Our
commemorations of two of our most
important national events provide a
sense of community for our members
and their families. Our culture days are
open to any and all interested in
Hungarian culture in the UK.
We believe that with our activities we
have managed to foster citizenship and
community development by encouraging
knowledge and mutual understanding
among diverse ethnic groups.
