Ely College holds a corporate membership wilh the club which enables us to support our School Rowing session giving pupils access to our sport through weekly rowing sessions. Through regular meetings and reporting by the management committee the trustees have an active oversight of any risks. Isle of Ely Rovwing club IIOERCI is a community sports club aiming to increase access to the joys and benefits rowing offers to our all in our locality regardless of age. gender. ability or previous experience. At the end of 2025 the club had 175 members1145 seniors and 30 juniors) With regards to our senior section of the club 15 people attende(J our learn- to-row course ir) the autumn of 2025 and of these 11 people subsequently joined the club. We have continued to hold Iwo coached and supervised sessions on a Saturday morning to improve new members rowing skills and confidence after they've graduated from our leam-lo-row courses. In the summertime we also have extra coached sessions on some evenings. We hold timed rowing sessions monlhly. These are well attended not only for those who use it as a training tool for racing but those who are wanting to challenge themselves to improve each month. These sessions are in addition lo the regular Saturday morning sessions giving members as many opportunities as possible to enjoy their sport. Summary the main actlvitiès undertaken for the public benefit in rolation to these objects (include within this section tho statutory doclaration that trustees have had regard to the guldanco issued by the Charity Commisslon publlc on benefit) Our club junior sessions lake place on Sunday mornings. These are attended by children of all differenl backgrounds and sporting ability and are co-ordinated by a senior member who also attended the club as a junior. We ran taster todays during the holidays for approximately 14 juniors and some of these juniors Ihen subsequently joined the club Our work with Ely College (which began in 2018) continues and in 2025 we offered around 50 sludents the opportunity to row. We have also developed links with East Anglia Youth Rowing. an organisation who helped us run 2 inspirational days at Cambridge University Boat Club for the following schools-Ely College. Martin Bacon Academy (a special education schooll,North Cambridge Academy, Swavesey Village College and North Stowe Secondary College . We had around 60 students attend across the 2 days and 2 Cambridge University Boat Club athletes from the Blondie and the LWTS crews helped on these days. This extends to membership of the management committee, being a trustee. keeping the site tidy, running and assisting with coached sessions, DIY jobs around the club. coaching, launch driving. We fundraise. we run open races for the entire racing community, the list goes on. with far too many to mention. Without the regular support of our members, we simply would not run. contribution made by volunteers. Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achievements of the charity during the year We have hosted and run our Great Ouse marathon event which gathered wide participation from Ihe region and nationwide. We continue to offer rowing opportunilies to members whether for cofflpetitive rowing or fitness and social benefits. We have furbIShed three doubles and singles this year. We have also boughl sweep oars,2 cox boxes, racking for 8's and a small floating landing stage We have continued our schools rowing sessions bringing rowing to students from state funded education which is such a rare opportunity in the UK. We also in 2025 were nominated for a Kings award and though we ultimately did not receive Ihe award we were sent a letter staling how impressed the assessors were in our achievements in supporting our local community. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is nol required for this period under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 {The Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to- Examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act To follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145{5){bl of the Charilies Acl To stste whether particular matters have come lo my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the club and a comparison of the accounls presented with those records.
