The club's activities for the F)ublic benefft centre aTound three Yna5n th8m8s - Taster Swions and Learn-t￿ROW ¢ournes for the general public, youth coaching and rowing for our Junior memters section, Ely College and East Anglia Youth Rowin9, and coaching and general rowing for our adult members. We ran taster sessions during the Easter holidays for those on the dub's ju nior waiting list. We ran one learn-tO-TOW course for adults in 2024 and hai5 20 peO￿e attend These courses are open with no restrtction5 to Participatlon and they appeal to a wide range of people. We had our higl)est sign up after this course of 90QA. Several of these students have gone on to be members and race for the dub. Thè Ely College rowing gets support from Catnbridge University Boat Club as wèll as the Boat Ra￿ Company. There also ha5 been a relatFonship formed between Ely College 8nd Kings Ely School in so far as the college lends Kings Ely a boat and in exchango one of Kings Ely co&ches attenrls the Coljegè wèekday rowing session8 We have also developed links with East Anglia YoLrth Rowing an organisa*"on who helped us run the inspirational days at Cambridge Untversrty Boat Club. Our clufi junior se55Tons take place on Sunday morDings. These are attended by children of all different backgrounds and sporti.ng ability. For adult members we hold coached and sUpe￿Ised sessions on a Saturclay moming to improve new m8mbers rowing skills aTvJ etsnfiden¢e after they'va graduated from our leam-to-row courses. In addition, we hold timèd rowing sessions monthty. Th85e are well attended not only for those who use it as a training tool for racing but those who are waTrting to challenge thernsalves to improve each rnonth. Thesa sessions are in a(Idition to the reg￿L8r Saturday moming sessions giving members 85 many opportunrties as possible to enjoy their sport. Section D Achievements and performance 1h Summary of the maln achievements of thè charlty durlng the year The club celebrated its 20 anniversary and the memberEhip numbers remain stable We have host&d and rLin th¥0 event5 - th• Head Race Bnd the Great Ouse Marhon in 2024. Both gathered w4de participation from the region and nationwide. We continue to offer rowing opportunities to rnambers whether for competitive rowlng or fjtne5s and social benefits. We have refurbished one of our quadg and three doubles and three 5iThgles this year. We have also bought an eight, a COX￿ four and quad blade5. We ordere(12 new Cailet boat5 for our junior5 last year which artived in 2024 and wer8 partially grant fiJnd￿. We have continued our schools rowing sèssions bringing rowing to students from state funded education which is such a rare opportunity in the UK. We have Gpntknued to improve our site and have purchased a new lawnmowèr, chairs and 8150 landing Stage matting. We also had a ri)y?I vi51t from the Duke ot Gloucester Section E Financial review The club sets annual budgets to ensure the smooth Tunning of the club ard funds are set aside annually to ensure the continued investrnent in our facilities and equipment for the tserbefft of members. This year we have therefore eaten into our reseNes by about 1 OOA. We are currently in the process of writing a reseNes policy in order to ¢etail how much we need to have in reservè moving forwards.
