Over the past financlal year. our chaiily has continued to respond to Ihe evolving needs of older peop18 across
Powyg, partlcularly those most affected by the ongoing cosl-of.living crisis. Rising energy prices and financial
insg¢urily have placed significant pressure on many oklef individuals and their families. In response, Age Cymru
Powys expanded ils cost-of-INillg SUPPOrt services, reachSng over 3904 people with practical advlce, advocacy,
and emotional support.
Oui innovative Advice Van has been a standout success, Iravelling across towns and villagès to brlng vilal
informallon dlr8clly to comrnunitles. This mobile s8rvic&. equipped with an att6ssible office space. supported
1.000 older peopl8 to access help earlier and more easily. We were honoured to welcome Ihe Older People's
Commlssiongr for Wales aboard the van, and proud lo see ils impact fealured by ITV News. We also offer talloTed
Home Energy Advice. This inilialive helps oldei people managg rising energy costs more effeGlively.
Specialist S8rvices for Veterans and Older Farmers have grown slgnificantly, providing early Interventlon and
preventing crises In rural and Isolated communities. Our befriending and community volunteers continue to make
profound dlfference In tackling loneliness and isolation.
Development of 8 new service wa8 created. Monèy MOT. delivering séssions In communllies lo help older people
lake control of Ih8ir money matters and improve their financial skills.
Our Simply Nails clinics have expanded, offering essential foot care whlle acllng as hubs for wideT 89Tvl¢e access.
These cllnlcs help oldar peopl& maintain mobility and independence. while COMe¢ting them to other forrns of
support.
To mark our 30th AnnSversary, we hosted three large Unpaid C8rers Wellness Evenls in January 2025. These
6venls were well attended and received OVe￿helMlngIY positive feedback. with carers expressing how much Ihe
experi8nce lifled their wellbeing.
We are proud to report that our Information and Advice Team achieved the Advice Quality Standard in August
2023, and in January 2024, the charity successfully completed the Age UK Quality Slandard accieditatlon. These
recoonilions affimi the h￿h standards of our véork and the trust plarAd In us by $talulory and Ihird-secloT partneTS.

Unpald Carers Wellbelng Days - Working in collaboration wilh Cfedu, Y￿ had the opportunity to deliver 3 unpaid
carers wellbeing days. Oldei people allended and were able to receive Iherapeulic Iherapies. experience e.g.
massage, nail care & sound balhs, and to take part in entertainment provided or for those unable to attend they
received lunch vouchers lo use at a lime that was convenient to them.
Volunteerlng Volunteers play a vilal rol8 in Age Cymru P0￿s'S mlssion to support older people across the
county. In th8 past year. 60 dedicated volunteers generousty gave Iheir lime, skills. and compassion lo help older
peoplo remain independent, connected. and less isolated.

Our Wellbeing Support Volunteers provide 8SS8nlial companionship and practical assistan￿ to vulnerable,
disablèd individuals agéd 65+ throughout Powys. Their SUPPOrt is often a lifeline for those facing multiple
challenges.

Total Incoming Resources in the year were £566.679 <2024 £384.050). Expendilure was £403,023 compared to
£333,869 for Ihe previous year. Net income lor the year was £163.656 rA)mpared to net income of £50,081 for the
previous year. The nèt movement in lunds were net income for Reslficled Funds of £95,067 (2024 - Net in¢ome
£5,670) and net Income for Unieslricled Funds 01 £68.589 (2024 - Net income £44,511) details ol which are
provided in Ihe notes to Ihe Financlal Statements.

The Trustees have established a policy whereby the unreslricled funds not commitled OT invested in tangiblo fixed
assets, or held in deslgnated lunds, {'Ihe free re5erves') held by the Charity should be be￿80n three and six
months of budgeled expenditure which is eslimaled currenlly would be £200.000. At this level the Trustees fe61
Ihéy would be able to continue Ihe current aclivities of the Charity In Ihe evenl ol a significant drop In fundlng. The
actual ffee reserves at 31 Maich 2025 were £204.453 {2024 - £132.962). The Trustees hava a strategy to malnlain
reserves at this level to support the Charilies work.

other equivalent slzed local Age Cymru parlners. Our policy is lo review Ihe pay of all slaff on an annual basis.

I report to the charily trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year endod 31 March
2025.

As the Trustees ol the Company (and ils diieclors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for the
prepafalion of the accounts in accordance wilh the requirements ol Ihe Companies Act 2006 ('Iha 2006 Act,).
Having satlslled myself that Ihe accounts of the Company are nol required to be audlled under Part 16 of Ihe 2006
Act and are eligible for independent examination. I report in respect of my examinalion of the Company's accounts
carrled oul under section 145 of the Charities Acl 2011 ('the 2011 Act.). In carrying out my examlnatlon I have
followed the Directions glven by tha Charlly Commission under seclion 145{5)(b} of the 2011 Act.

for ils bèneficiariès. It includes both costs Ihal can be allocated direclly to such activilies and Ihose cosls of an
Indirect nature necessary to supwrt them.

Governance costs
These Costs include the costs of governance arrangements. which relate to thè general running of th8 charity as
opposed to Ihe direct management functions inherent in generaling funds. seNice delivery and programme of
project work. These include such items as external Independenl Examination, legal advice for Iruslees and 10%
of the salary cost of Ihe Chief Officer for lime spent on dealing with conslilulional and statutory requiremenls.
