Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main 2022 commenced with a much more promising diary than the previous achievements of the charity two years and finished with the band performing 21 times in public – during the year normal service had resumed, including the rescheduled trip to the Isle of Wight. Standards are improving greatly now, and we are back to our prepandemic quality, In 2021, the band was hugely appreciative of a donation of two clarinets to further our objects. This proved so successful that in 2022 the band was fortunate enough to secure grants from several sources, which alongside individual gifts, enabled us to invest in a number of instruments and establish a formal bank – loaning out quality instruments to those who cannot necessarily afford them.
Our membership remained strong in the year with over 75 pieces played in public and our YouTube channel with 125 videos has reached 230,000 views.
Section E Financial review
Brief statement of the The reserves policy for the band is nominally calculated as at least the charity’s policy on reserves previous year’s running costs plus three months of anticipated income. In any event the reserves must not be lower than £4k to cover any costs of dissolution. The reserves position remains healthy and above the minimum level in the policy. Details of any funds materially None in deficit Further financial review details (Optional information) You may choose to include All revenue has supported the charitable objectives of the organisation additional information, where with no-one receiving any form of remuneration. relevant about: • the charity’s principal 2022 included a number of grants and donations which were specifically sources of funds (including used for our “creating for the future” project and secured additional any fundraising); staging and 13 instruments to support our music making. • how expenditure has The reserves balance remains in accordance with the policy. supported the key objectives of the charity; • investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.
