The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies and comply with the charity's constitution, the Charities Act 2011 and “Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)” (as amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 2016)

  1. Objectives and activities: The objects of the Charity as stated in its Constitution are the provision of grants for treatment related to cancer to individuals who are in need of but unable to afford such treatments. It also provides advocacy / advice and information on the various forms of treatment related to cancer. Since its formation the awareness of the charity’s existence has been slow to develop partly due at that time to the Covid pandemic and the availability of its key trustees who had other work commitments and demands on their time. Nevertheless now the pandemic is behind us the Trustees are working hard to raise awareness of the charity’s existence and have paid due diligence and regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. Regrettably as reported previously, the unexpected & sudden death of our Chairman, the most active fundraiser, has had a significant impact on us, which combined with the continuing after effects of the Covid 19 pandemic, together with the difficulties people are facing due the economy together with the continued absence of a key Trustee for part of the year all continues to affect a delay in the Charity making the anticipated increase of its profile in the local area and its fundraising activities. This continues to remain a setback to operations, However the Trustees continue to remain optimistic in fulfilling their charitable objectives, and are working hard to achieve this. A new trustee is shortly to be appointed who’s primary role will be fundraising to enable this.
