Followng an urgent appeal from ￿fugee charity. MKJranl Help UK. in February 2023. the team hastity fulfilled the
quest. Fundraising amongst Iheir IcKal community. volunteers raised suffiu.ent funds to purchase clothing for 60
refugees that the organisation suprK*ts.
During the Islamic month of Rarnadhan, Ihe team were joined by youth from the IcLql Islamic centre who were
eager to do their part for charity. Together Ihey seNed the City's hrmneless sharing In this act of i¥mp8ssion,
which was featured in the l¢xa news.
In Oclob8r an opportunity arose to support 2 k￿1 shelters, namety Trident Reach and Washington Court. By
utili5ing suppli8s such as Iruil, vegetatA8S. K)nVrishab￿s, prepared sandwiches, salads and desserts co1￿Cted
from Aldi and Prel a Manger daity lo di51riixJte these lo the shelters. Ihe tearn a150 help to reduce food waste
across the city. Colleclively, both shelter5 house 200 indwiduals, and Ihe teatn continues to 5UPPOrt both shelters
monthly.

The Charity does not have a material holding in complex financial inslrumenls. The Charity only
holds basic Financial Instruments. The financial assels and financial liabilities of Ihg Charity 8re

Debtors - trade and other debtors lincluding accrued income) are bas￿ financial instruments and
are debt instruments measured at amortised cosl as detailed in Nole 14. Prepayments are not
rinancial instruments.
Cash al bank- is classified as a basic financial instrument and is measured al face value.
Liabilitl8S- trad8 creditors, accruals and olh8r u8ditors will b8 dassified as financial instruments,
and are measured al amorlised cosl as delailed in Note 13. Taxation and social securily are not
included in the financial instruments disdosure. Deferred income is not deemed to be a financial
liability, as in the cash seltlemenl has already laken place and there is simply an obligation to
deliver charitable services rather than cash or another financlal Instrument.
Deflned Contrlbutlon plans
Contributions to defined contribution plans are recognised as an expense in the pariod in which
the related service is provided. Prepaid contributions are recognised as an asset to the extent
that the prepayment will lead lo a reduction in future payments or a cash refund.
