Somerset Levels RDA Carriage Driving Group Registered Chariy No : 1174169
Trustees Annual Report Financial Year 1[st] April 2023 – 31[st] March 2024
The Somerset Levels Carriage Driving Group is affiliated to The Riding for the Disabled Charity and provides carriage rides, tuition and training in horse care to adults with various levels of Special Needs and gives them a sensory experience they would otherwise not achieve. Our income is primarily received from fees paid for carriage rides and also from various fund raising events, supermarket token initiatives and some donations.
Our principal risks are in obtaining volunteers to keep the Group operating in the future, Our volunteers are invaluable and give up much of their time to keep the Group running smoothly and to take care of the ponies. However the current volunteers are ait is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit new volunteers due mainly to the later retirement age and people having to work longer.
Our expenditure for this year has been for Livery, Horse Feed, Veterinary and Farrier Fees, Horse Dentist and Insurance. Our finances are adequate for the Group to continue for many years but rising costs make everything much more difficult,
We recruit Trustees mainly from volunteers within the Group but also invite people who are known to the Group and have extensive horse experience.
Our Trustees currently are:
Roger Adams Chairman Julia Gibson Secretary Lynn Austin Treasurer Caroline Sturgess Linda Adams Gill Lane Tricia Kilby Angie Horne
Ann Turner
