AcfIvITIES DURING THE YEAR
The Society continues to promote the S￿dY of the history of the vJ]lages of Sen4 Ripley and
neighbouring vill2ges. A knghhght this yeat Was the exhibition dedicated to the work of local 9rtiSL Frank
Brovm and the c2talogue of p2intings that resulteiL
We were also debghted to fmally put into print Bygone Dgs. a collection 0£ local memories recorded in the
1980s. This was made possible with the hdp of a grant of £770 from Suttey Muscums Partncrship.
Our award winning bi-monthly journals continued to toll off the presses and the museum was open to
Fisitots on Saturday mornings. with very vatied exhthitions.
Out monthly talks were well supported and hdd during the spting at The Ripley Bowls Club and from
Septembet at the new Ripley Vlllage Hall.
TRUSTEES
The trustees ate listed at the front of this teporL Anne Cornell was appointed on 13 March 2024.
Philip D2vie resjgned as trustee on 6 September 2024 but continues to act as Atchivist.
FINANCLIL REPORT
Thc income for the yeat under review was £13.488 (2023: £13.808), and expenditute £1 0.867 (2023., £12,150).
The result for the year shows a surplus of £2,621 (2023: £1.658). Sales of pubbcations in 2024 were £1,135
(2023.. £551).
Subscriptions for 2024 were constant at £5.781 (2023: £5,783). 'I'otal membership at the end of the year
was 33().
THE SOCIEfvs POLICY ON RESERVES
The .Socierfs policy on income tcserres is to continuc to hold sufficicnt rescrvcs to mect the costs of
new publlcations, the maintenancc of the museum and ￿tUre conservation work on the collection hdd
by the Soaety.
The trustees consider the reserves at 31 December 2024 to be suffiaent for the Soaety's needs.
TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE Accouwrs
Charity law reqvir.es the trustees of the Soaety to prepare an incomc and expenditure account and a
statLment of liabilities for eath financial ycar. In addition, the trustees are responsible for keeping proper
accounling records which are suffiaent to show and explain the Society's transactions and to disdose
with reasonable accuracy at any one time the fuwicial Position of the Society.
They ate also responsible for safeguar&'ng the assets OF the Society 2nd hence fot tAking reason2blc steps
for the ptevcntion of fraud and other ittcgulan"ties.

Basis of accountmg.
'I'he accounts have been prepared undet the historical cost convention. The accounts are stated
on an accruals basis and indude income and expenditure as they are earned.
2. Fixed Assets
ince its forniation the Socicty h25 had in its possession vatious artefacts. most of which have
been donated, on wbich it is not possible to put 2 value. These are held in trust 2nd not
induded in the Balance Sheet. A li8t of these items ts available for inspection by members.

4. Ripley Museum
The owncrsknp of the building ts vested in the Ripley VW Hall Management Committee. The
Society has the exdusive right to use the buildmg free of rent in pt￿etu1ty. The costs nf
refi￿biShing and equipment 2te charged to income & expcnth'ture in the year.
5. Museum Expense8
A grant was paid by AIM to covet the cost of 3 dAys of consultation by Codex Conservation on
collection care in 2023.
6. Stock of Publications
The stock is valued at cos¢ less due allow2nce for slow moving items.
