FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
For the

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Samaritans of Bury St. Edmunds and West
Suffolk
I report on the financial statements of Samaritans of Bury St. Edmunds and West Suffolk for the year
ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on pages I to 7 of the appendix to the Annual Report.
Respectfive responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustces are responsible for the preparation of th¢ financial statements. The charity's
trustces consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 43(2) of the chariti￿ Act
1993) (thc Act) and that an indq)¢nd¢nt examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to'.-
cxamine the financial slalements (under section 43(3)(a) of the Act).
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners (under section 43(7)0)) of the Act). and
to state wh¢th¢r particular matters have come to my att¢ntion.
Basis of independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by th¢ charity and a
comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes Consideration of
any unusual items or disclosures in thc financial statements and seeking explanations from you as
trustccs concerning any such matters. The prOc￿ureS undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by
the financial statements.
Independent examiner's statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:_
which gives me reasonable cauge to believe that in any material respect the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordancc with section 41 of the 1993 Act. and
to prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the
have not been met. or
2. to which in my opinion, attention should be drawn in ordcr to enable a proper understanding of th¢
financial statCTnents.
