Commentary on the Spinal Injuries Recreational Fund Annual Report: SURF Charity

Spinal Injuries Recreational Fund Charity

Report of the trustees for the year ending 2024

The secretary of The Spinal Injuries Recreational Fund Charity present their annual report and audited accounts for the year ended 31[st] March 2025 and confirm they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.

OUR AIMS

To provide a regular programme of events, both at the Yorkshire Region Spinal Unit, and off site. For the current inpatients, supported by suitable ex-patients.

OUR OBJECTIVES

To plan and operate these activities to help people transition better into the community, now that they have a spinal injury or issue.

To lead by example of how a life although now different due to a spinal injury, it is and remains a worthwhile life that can be enjoyed fully and actively.

REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

SURF carried out regular events across the year, all were very well attended and received. We seek feedback from our participants after each event, to ensure what we deliver and how we deliver our events are safe, satisfactory and suitable for all.

Environmental Initiatives: Cutting our ‘carbon footprint’

We continue to monitor our own and the organisations who we use to deliver our services, carbon footprints, ensuring we reduce this as far as can be achieved.

FUTURE PLANS

What we do is clearly effective and suitable, therefor we will build on this past experience going forawards.

OUR FINANCES

Our financial situation is and remains sound, however, we are looking at operating more cost effectively. Reducing the less needed or priority costs, so we remain financially stable.

CHARITY TRUSTEES

No changes in the Trustees, as previously reported.
