Zoom and Facebook. There are a stgnificallt nUTnb¢r of visitors froTn the Tiiai community. However. Makha Bucha
and Vesak day cotttinued to include a ceT¢molly In Englisb. medilaiion, ond lighting of candles iyhen tnosi visitors were

Thc long-tcrni aims are to create a model Buddhist Temple that tan be uscd as a blueprint for fuhjre Tcmples to follow.
The Ncwcastle Temple has bceo de5igtteil as a model Buddhist Temple that will please botii Asian and European
peopl¢. Thu5. all visitors should feel al ease and appreciate thc screniry and ¢altn atmosphete.

Whett lockdowns are eased. the Temple at Newcastl¢ is open 365 days of the year with all visitors given a wami
welcome. The monks perfomi morning and cvcning chanting followcd by meditation.
A monthly ceremony is held duftng the early hours of the first Sutlday of every month. This finishes about lunch tim¢
and attracts approxirnately 20 visitors. The ceremony is conducted in Thai and EnglLSh.
Our meihod of meditation is sirnple and non-intn]sive, suitable for pcrsons of atty faith. Eath week meditation ¢la5ses are
held on Tuesday. Thwsday. Saturday. and Sunday.
The Twstees have reviewed the activitic5 undertaken for the public benefit and CODfLtTn thcir compliance with tbi5 duty.
Voluntecrs
When it is possible, volunteers visit the Temple al Newcastle ev¢ry day of the year to cook food, offei. food to Tnollks. help with
cleaning and renovation. and help with cereinonies. Volunteer5 give many hours of their time edch week and over the year foul"
volunteers helped willi cooking. In addition, a furthcr five volunteers helped thc'femple. The TTUStees would like to tliank the
volunteers for their hard work.

The Newcost]e Temple Activities during the year ineluded the following..
The Temple is opeTL to the public 365 days of the year.
Each day start5 With momiDg chanting and meditation that is followeil by a food offering to the Tnonks. breakfast. alld a
blessing from the Monks. Mcmbers of tile public are givcii a wam] welcornc and LtLVLted to join Temple's staff and
volunteers for breakfast.
Lunch includes 8 food offering to the monks. Members of the publi¢ are welcorne to attend and have lunch that is
followed by a blc5sing from the monks.
Evening chanting tskes place that is followed by meditation. The public are wel¢ome ro attend.
The blessings from the monks are cbanted in the traditional Pali Buddhist language.
Buddhist special days are celebrated where visitors receive a blessing from the monks and food is provided free of
cliarge.
Meditation classes are held on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. These atiract approximately 33 paiticipants

The r]rst Sunday of the month ceremony starts during the early houts and finisbes at lunch time. This attracts
approximately 20 people with the dorniitory used.
