Section C: Objectives and activities

The objectives of the UK Compassion association are: to support charitable work of people in the UK; promote and improve Buddhist education by holding prayer meetings; o\er meditation coaching and practise; help vulnerable people who are going through physical or emotional pain; deliver teaching on how to maintain mental wellbeing and positive thinking; help farm animals, etc. During the weekly prayer meeting, we encourage each other to share challenges and problems in our lives and provide support accordingly.

1. To help people deal with the stress they were experiencing in their lives and lead their lives in a more meaningful and positive way, a series of inspirational videos were produced and shared on Facebook and YouTube. The videos relating to compassion and love were designed to be easily consumed and shared on social media.

2. To cultivate the mind in the Buddhist way and apply the teachings to daily life, we held chanting and practise once a fortnight. To support participants’ wellbeing, a qualified Chinese doctor who holds regular clinics at which patients receive treatment using traditional Chinese methods attended each meeting and provided free online consultations.

3. The Charity distribution centre continued to distribute books, candles and incense to individuals without charge. The Charity entirely relies on donations from the society and there were no business activities during the year.

4. The weekly children’s online reading club provided a place for children to spend time together. The children enjoyed reading stories, had a discussion and played games with their friends. This helped them practice their social skills.

5. Our online vegetarian cooking club helped people to cook delicious budgetfriendly meals, both vegetarian and vegan.

6. Saving animals. Supporting animal Sanctuary. Saving hens.
