Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We have established a day of Jazz and Soul, in which professional bands and groups perform and also run workshops geared at youngsters and adult amateurs. These amateurs can bring their pieces and instruments and be accompanied by the professionals and join in performing with a professional band. Rossini’s “Cinderella” turned into a community production with a local adult chorus (some singing small parts) and children’s chorus, all performing alongside professional singers, orchestral members and conductor.
Outside of the festival period we organised musical afternoon tea concerts giving youngsters the opportunity to perform their pieces in an informal set up, to prepare them for future more formal concerts.
