AGM for year October 2021 to October 2022.

It gives me great pleasure as chairman of the Trustees to present you this report of the activities that has taken place at the Centre since October 2021.

With the effects of the pandemic easing, we looked forward positively for a more normal year even though it did have its challenges.

It was so nice seeing more and more people using the Ganolfan during the Autumn with Clay Workshop with Linda Unsworth, an event with Ceitidh Mac, Apple juicing with Cwm Arian Renewable and various activities throughout the year with Ramblers Wales. A very successful Craft day was held at the end of November but with the rising number of people going down with covid the annual Pensioners lunch and Carol singing had to be cancelled.

At the beginning of the year a 10-week course on local history was held under the guidance of Hedd Ladd Lewis and this was enjoyed by all who attended. During the Spring Caffi Browlan y Bryn took place on a monthly basis with guest speakers attending. On March 1st a successful walk was held over in Tycanol Woods and afterwards a nice bowl of hot Cawl was had by all at the Ganolfan to finish off. A Craft Group started meeting every fortnight and a special day was held by Carys Hedd showing how to make aprons out of scrap material.

The Gardening Group held a brilliantly successful Pollinator Party in June with National Botanic Gardens in attendance. Over 200 people attended over the day and there were talks, children's activities, organic cafe etc. The group meet weekly also arranged a Willow hedge workshop and composting. The Biodiversity Groups have continued to meet on a regular basis and often invite guest speakers to come along to talk to the group.

Members of the Management committee were successful in funding for a tennis table and an outdoor Boules court. Games night have been held for the community.

In July a BBQ and 70s disco was held at the Ganolfan and this proofed very successful. The annual Treasure Hunt was also held in July with 24 cars taking part. Mansel Kedward returned to the area and held a Folk evening which made a profit of £150. This money was presented to the Cardigan Food Bank.

The highlight of the summer activities was the return of the Horticultural Show and it was so nice to see so many people there. 480 exhibits in all.

The culmination of all the planning and development of the Ganolfan was the grand opening on September 16th 2022. As Cris Tomos had helped so much in the early part of development he was invited to officially open the building. Marged Rees Llwynihirion played the harp and everybody enjoyed a lovely buffet which was prepared by Charlotte Jones. A short film was prepared by Caroline Juler of some of the past pupils sharing their memories of the time they were pupils at the school. An exhibition was also prepared of old photographs.

The Ganolfan was also fortunate to receive a grant from PAVS 'Living well this Winter'. The purpose of the scheme is that everybody has a chance to have a hearty meal during the winter months.

Julie Marsdens weekly sessions continue as well as Emma Biddles' holistic therapies. There have also been Defibrillator classes and the Compassionate conversation cafe with Luke Conlon.

The activities at the Ganolfan continue to go from strength to strength and that is down to the hard work and dedication of our co-ordinator Sophie Jenkins, Officials, Trustees and the volunteers and as Sophies' the term of office comes to and end the responsibilities and the hard work of running the Ganolfan

will fall on the shoulders of the volunteers. Onwards and upward and thank you very much to you all.
