The Academy is affiliated to England Boxin8 and follows all relevant guidelines provided. In the Context of this year the objectives whbch we have been WOfkinB to remain unchanBed but we are still to return to pre pandemic activity levels. As noted above we are sts"Il to return to pre pandemic activity levels. Artivity levels are up thou%h and the boxers have recovtred better than our Boxfit classes where the. local markrt for CrossFit training is very competilive. As our new group of boxers has developed we have resumod compelitive bouts at EnBland Boxin8 shows. That provided the platform for our firsl Evolve show which took place end of February 2024. SiEn1fantly. we have retsined a Sirons Evolve tamily ethos which our boxer5 respect and value. At a more granular level: rirtonciol In the current year our financial reserves have deteriorated by around £13k. Whilst income has improved our total income still did not cover the comfftercial rent we pay on the unit. This 15 clearty unsustainable but a5 mentK)ned above our first dinner show in February 2024 providè.s a needed boost and we re.main confident that the path we are on will return u5 to a financii411y healthy condition. Our biggest financial thallenge Temains that pay commercial rent on the property and whilst achieving charitable status has enabled us to get full rate5 relief the rent at E24(Ai/month is challenging. Trustees, manaeemenl team and staff are all unpaid volunleers. All reasonable expenses claimed are P4iid but this remained low In the current year During ihe period we have retsInL our head coath and have been sUPPQrted by an additional levcl 2 coach. We can also call on our rets'red amateur boxer5 50 ovr coachine bench strength is not of concern. We continue to support coaches to Bei their En8land Boxing qualificiltion& Whilst outside the scope of thL' academy and a5 noted in last years report some of our experienced amateur boxers have turned professional with considerable success. They remain under the tutelage of head coach AndyGIll and that association is clearly benefitial to the academy. Of particular note is the approach we tske to ihe development of our most promiyng talent who now recewe a muth morè tailorpd approach. Whilst the pandemic 15 now old news the effeci Siill lingers as il takes time to replace and dovelop the two years of10st feedstock. Our boxers do not compete tompttitivoly until they are reddy and It is only in the latter half of this period that we returned to competitive boxing shows.
