Regarding relationships with related parties, the church is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. This is purely a joining of hearts and minds as opposed to a structural union, the FIEC does not own any of the church’s property and neither does it require a membership fee. The church shares the same theological perspective and annually affirms its agreement with the articles of faith.

The main activities fall under the stated objective of advancing the Christian Faith. Specifically, these include:

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The years covered by 2023-24 constituted a few enhancements as well as progress in the area of children’s ministry. 

First of all, after four years, the church finally began work on a children’s club. Because of lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, any kind of children’s work became difficult because the church was meeting over Zoom. In the spring of 2024, a team was formed and plans to start in April. 

Before that, however, we needed to upgrade our safeguarding policy. The current one had served well but it was not fit for purpose in the modern arena of child safety. After a long process of consultation, a new safeguarding policy is now in place. 

Finally, a new ministry was initiated for men. Whilst the church already had a women’s online meeting called Servants Hearts, a men’s version was started. It is called King’s Servants. The object of both ministries is to encourage people to be faithful to God and find direction for life’s challenges. 

The following continues to be our pattern of ministry: 

- On Sunday mornings, the church worships at Ambleside Centre. It is not a large building and doesn’t have other rooms for children’s work. This is not the best because we are not able to have a separate children’s function during the adult worship. 

- In the afternoon, the pastor continues to make use of Facebook Live to do sermons for the public. Currently, some 20 to 70 people view the sermons for any length of time and happily, not all of the listeners are Christians. Some are of other faiths and some of no faith at all. We welcome this as part of our ongoing mission to proclaim the Christian faith. 

- In the week, a prayer meeting takes place on the Zoom platform. 

- A weekly study group also takes place over Zoom and recently the group has read through Billy Graham’s book, _The Journey_ . 

- The new men’s group, King’s Servants, has been meeting every two months on Zoom. 

- The ladies group, Servants Hearts, continues to meet on Zoom and includes women from other churches not in Luton. 

- Much good has been achieved in global Christian work. Our local impact may be small but our global reach can be large. 

- Whilst not “regular”, the congregation has given an occasional gift to missionaries who are in special circumstances. These might include things such as unexpected health costs. It is to be celebrated that the church has such a wonderful philanthropic spirit.
