**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE:(1) THE PROMOTION OF THE REHABILITATION OF PRISONERS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY SETTING UP CHOIRS IN PRISONS AS A MEANS TO BUILD THE SKILLS AND CAPACITY OF OFFENDERS SO THAT THEY CAN BREAK THE CYCLE OF RE-OFFENDING ON RELEASE.(2) TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AMONGST PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF A PROGRAMME OF HIGH-QUALITY SINGING DESIGNED TO HELP DEVELOP SKILLS AND SELF-CONFIDENCE WITH THE AIM OF ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY.FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLAUSE ‘SOCIALLY EXCLUDED’ MEANS BEING EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: UNEMPLOYMENT; FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; YOUTH OR OLD AGE; ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL); SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR DEPENDENCY INCLUDING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS; POOR EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT; RELATIONSHIP AND FAMILY BREAKDOWN; POOR HOUSING (THAT IS HOUSING THAT DOES NOT MEET BASIC HABITABLE STANDARDS; CRIME (EITHER AS A VICTIM OF CRIME OR AS AN OFFENDER REHABILITATING INTO SOCIETY).

**Activities:** Promote the rehabilitation of prisoners for the public benefit by setting up choirs in prisons to build the skills and capacity of offenders so that they can break the cycle of re-offending on release.Promote social inclusion amongst socially excluded people by providing a programme of high-quality singing to help develop skills and self-confidence to assist them to integrate into society.
