Introductlon The Long Mynd Adventure Camp was founded in the 1950's by a Shropshire policeman Bill Williams to offer holidays to boys from Wolverhampton, In 1959 the first camp was run and by 1978 the number of visitors began to grow. In 2017 the charity became iricorporated and has had great suaEss attracting users with the throughpul continuing to exceed 1.000 youngsters a year. 2. Charitable aim The charity exists to provide a facility to enable less fortunate thildren to experien the countryside and all it has to offer. 3. Trustees During the year the following served as Trustees: JBun M York P Webb P Jenkins The Trustees are supported by a number of'Friends of the Camp, to ensure the smooth running of the site. All the volunteers give their time freely. 4. Financial During the year the Camp made a surplus of £55,794 which includes record income from users and a substantial donation given to ensure the Camp's continued existen(%. This enabled the trustees to ensure that the Camp: Remains fully serviceable. Maintsins adequate liquidity to fats the challenges of future years by adding to our reserves. Remains a going conrn. During the year we spent over £5.000 in this respect and will be increasing this figure in years to come. 6. Achievements in 2023 During the year we have: Maintained the camp to a high standard with only positive comments from Users. Further enhanced our website Comrnend a project to cary out a tnajor refurt)ishment of the girl's and boy's vsh block. Review the efficiency of the (xjrrent water SOU (borehole). Continue our fundraÉsing efforts. 7. Next year- 2024 Next year our plans are to- Complete the wash blod( refurbishrnent. Continue to pursue our marketing strategy to safeguard the future of the camp.
