Introduction The Long Mynd Adventure Camp was fourKJed in the 1950's by a Shropshire policeman Bill Williams to offer holidays to boys from Wolvethampton, In 1959 the first camp was run and by 1978 the number of visitors began to grow. In 2017 the charity be(3me incorporated and has had great success attracting users with the throughput now being over 1,(KK) youngsters a year. 2. Charitable aim The charity exists to provide a facility to enable less fortunate children to experience the countryside and all it has to offer. 3. Trustees During the year the folFowng senied as Trustees: JBun M York P Webb P Jenkins The Trustèes are supported by a number of 'Friends of the Camp. to ensure the smooth running of the site. All the volunteers give their time freely. 4. Financial During the year the Camp made a surplus of £10.034 which indudes rewrd income from users and generous donations by third partÉes. This enabled Ihe trustees to ensure that the Camp was fully Servi￿able and to ensure adequate liquidity to fa￿ the challenges of fvture yea[5 by adding to our reserves and that the charity remains a going concem. 5. Charitable alms As noted above the Charitable aim of the charity is to provide the camp facilities for less fortunate Ghildren and to offer financial support to achieve this. Commenced a project to larry out a major refurt)ishment of the girl's and boy's wash block. Fomied an allian￿ with Telford and Wrekin county Icouncil. trading as Arthog. This has enhanced our abilty meet our charilable aims through visits by local schools who enjoy a variety of experi8nc8s at th8 camp e.g. a climbing wall and walks in the neart)y hills. 7. Next year- 2024 Next year our ptans are to: Complete the wash bk)ck refurbishrnent Tarrnac the entrance and driveway to offer easier access to the camp.
