ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION AND MANAGEMENT
Governing Document
Duffus Cancer (Community) Foundation (DCF) is a charitable organisation which first met as a committee on 30th January 2017 and registered as a charity on 11th July 2017. It is governed by its constitution as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Organisational Structure
The Board of Trustees meets monthly 10 times a year and monitors financial performance and strategic planning facilitated by the CEO. The Youth Steering Group, which consists of young people (accessing/who have accessed our service) and young volunteers, meets monthly/quarterly. Other ad-hoc sub-committees are formed as required.
Staffing
During this period, DCF had a paid part-time youth worker, working on the Croydon Relief In Need School Programme and one paid part-time youth worker working on our Merton School Programme until the end of May. In addition to this, we had a full time CEO leading on strategy, staff performance and youth provision and one staff member leading on communication and community youth provision across DCF.
In our community programmes, we had eleven sessional volunteers and a further ten volunteers who supported with fundraising, events, marketing and film making.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for fulfilling objectives as a registered charity fall on the DCF Board of Trustees, as outlined above.
Staff/Volunteer Induction and Training
All new staff and volunteers undertake an induction and training programme. Existing staff/volunteer training requirements are reviewed via Planning Meetings and 121s/Supervision sessions.
Trustees are also encouraged to have any additional training as is relevant to their roles and requirements. In 2024 we appointed three new trustees and two Ambassadors.
Risk Management
All major risks are identified and reviewed by Trustees on a monthly/bi-monthly basis. During this process, systems and procedures are put in place to manage any risk.

DCF YOUTH STEERING GROUP
Our Youth Steering Group had a successful 2024. They worked on a campaign which involved giving back to their community by volunteering their time once a month to other local community groups.
The Steering Group also supported DCF with grant applications, volunteering on fundraising events and supporting our junior members.
