|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference<br>the charity’s work has made<br>to the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The main achievement of the Trust during<br>2022 was operating through very difficult<br>economic circumstances as a result of the<br>ongoing Covid pandemic.<br>Careful budgeting of expenditure has allowed<br>us to maintain, heat and keep the Hall open as<br>usual despite huge unforeseen  increases in<br>utility charges.<br>We<br>have<br>attracted<br>new<br>groups<br>and<br>organisations offering communal, social<br>activities and have become a hub for local<br>businesses to hold their meetings and events.<br>We have hosted various community events<br>including the Queen’s Platinum  celebrations<br>in June whereby we held a  Jubilee Village<br>Afternoon Tea Party and a Jubilee Sunday<br>Lunch for the community- both were well<br>attended.<br>This year, as the world gets back to normal,<br>members of the community have held<br>christenings, weddings and wakes at the Hall.<br>For the third year running we have staged  a<br>production of Somerset Opera and hosted<br>Bridgwater Carnival events.<br>Our sports facilities are used by local sports<br>clubs including tennis, football, boules.<br>We continue to provide facilities for the Youth<br>Club and Social Club - a venue that is<br>particularly appreciated by many of the older<br>members of our community..|
