Due to travel<br>restrictions being imposed in Uganda,<br>this trip was extended to 12 weeks,<br>which ultimately was very beneficial<br>to the project and other activities of<br>our charity.<br>In the latter part of the 2020,<br>fundraising activities were able to<br>recommence within the UK, raising<br>funds for our proposed building<br>project for the Kyarushesha Clinic.<br>Other<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>


## **Achievements and Performance**

||Summary of the main<br>achievements of the<br>charity, identifying the<br>diference the charity’s<br>work has made to the<br>circumstances of its<br>benefciaries and any<br>wider benefts to society<br>as a whole.|Para 1.20|**-**<br>As a result of our successful<br>application to the UKAid Direct<br>Small Charities Challenge Fund, we<br>have employed a UK manager to<br>live in Uganda for two years to set<br>up our new clinic; this grant<br>commenced on 1 February 2020.<br>**-**<br>Thanks to this grant we have<br>opened and established a second<br>Health Centre III in rural Uganda,<br>where we have been able to ofer<br>24/7 skilled maternity, paediatric<br>and general services to<br>Kyarushesha and 11 villages in the<br>surrounding area. This opened in<br>leased premises.<br>**-**<br>In 2020, each month, the Runga<br>MAMA clinic saw an average of<br>117 women for antenatal visits<br>(year total 1408); delivered 17<br>babies (total 208); prescribed<br>family planning for 19 people<br>(total 222); and saw 113 people<br>through the outpatient service<br>(total 1355).<br>**-**<br>From March-December 2020, each<br>month, the Kyarushesha MAMA<br>Grace clinic saw a mean of 311<br>women through the antenatal<br>clinics (total in 10 months 3106);<br>delivered 29 babies (total 288);<br>prescribed 56 family planning<br>methods (total 559); and saw 195<br>people through the general<br>outpatient clinic (total 1949).<br>**-**<br>In addition, both clinics ran<br>fortnightly childhood immunisation<br>clinics.<br>**-**<br>We have engaged with the<br>Ugandan Red Cross Organisation<br>and have hosted regular blood<br>donor sessions.<br>**-**<br>We have used local drivers and<br>their vehicles to provide<br>emergency transport to those<br>patients requiring a higher level of<br>care.<br>**-**<br>We have employed two local<br>midwives, one nurse and one<br>clinical ofcer to run the clinic<br>Kyarushesha, with support from<br>security and domestic staf. We<br>also employ local administration<br>staf to help with data collection,<br>local accounts and general running<br>of the clinics.<br>**-**<br>We revamped our clinic in Runga<br>to replace foors, move walls and<br>create a better working||

This was<br>reported to us by the Diocese who<br>before we opened the clinics would<br>have overseen a higher number of<br>burials.<br>-<br>Twice weekly health education<br>sessions at our clinics have<br>improved the mothers’ knowledge<br>of when they should seek help in<br>pregnancy, amongst other topics.<br>Performance of  Para 1.41 - We successfully completed the due<br>fundraising activities  diligence and grant set up process<br>against objectives set for the UK Aid Direct Small<br>Charities Challenge Fund, for a<br>grant worth £51,000 over two<br>years, which started in February<br>2020.<br>-<br>In February 2020 we held a<br>fundraising dinner, in conjunction<br>with a local restaurant, which<br>succeeded in raising just over<br>£12,000 for our projects. This was<br>used as matched funding in the<br>establishment of the new clinic.<br>-<br>In the latter part of 2020, we<br>started fundraising towards<br>building a permanent clinic for our<br>services in Kyarushesha, which in<br>the long run will save us a<br>considerable amount of money in<br>rent.<br>-<br>Due to the Covid pandemic our<br>normal avenues for small<br>fundraising events were<br>suspended for a substantial part of<br>**----- End of picture text -----**<br>

## **Financial Review**
