Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20
During the year concerned 27
persons were baptised into the
Church.

The membership of the Church
increased from 67 to 95.

During the period, we continued to
see an increase in the number of
Iranian converts at our Church. This
meant that much of the Church’s
work was focused on preaching the
gospel, supporting our newer
members, and ensuring effective
integration of newer members with
existing church members. An
example of this is that we now hold
services in both English and Farsi.

We provide a meal at no charge to
all members and visitors after our
memorial meetings on Sunday
mornings. This can be particularly
helpful to those who are refugees or
awaiting leave to remain from the
Home Office, who may be living in
temporary accommodation,

We also assist with the costs of
public transport for those who
require this to get to the Church.

We have a Welfare Group which
provides individual support and
advice to members, including those
who are refugees and those who
are awaiting decisions on leave to
remain in the UK.

When individuals are at risk of
homelessness, we endeavour to
provide support and advice to them
and liaise on their behalf with local
Council and voluntary sector
services for homeless people.
