Achievements and Performance SORP The Foryet Me Not's have continued to support carers of people living with dementia in the local communlty and have been able run the Friday Lunch | Club and Tuesday support evenings throughout the year for the first time since the outbreak of Covid. Summary of the main achievements of ihe charity, identifying the drfference the harity s wcrk has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider tenefits to society as a whole. Para 1.20 Firstly, we would like to offer thanks to a few organisations and individuals who have helped the charlty financially j during the year. Both National Lottery and Crawley Borough Council providod significant grants without which we would find it very difficult to contlnue. Fundraising events held In conjunction with Brighton and Hove Buses and tho Charcoal Burner together with donations from a multitudo of membern and volunteers also added up to a i slgnificant sum, all of which will ènable the charlty to continue wlth Its main aim to support carers of people living with dementsa, Our support sessions are the charlty's most significant actlvity wlthln the ommunity and have been well supported throughout the year. The overall number of mombers attonding increased compared to the prevlous year. The Friday Lunch Club has Continued to be as popular as ever with average numbers being maintained at 21. In contras( we have seen average Tuesday Support numbers incroaso to 11, from 7 last year. However against pre£ovid the number of attendances at our weekly sessions have reduced 14°h. With this in mind the Trustees felt that using the Charcoal Burner public house as our main site for dellverlng support to carers was holding back our potential to offer more to the local community. Staff at the Charcoal Bumer helped our charity through some very diffi¢ult times since we relocated in 2020 and helped to ralse significant funds for the charity through the annual Royal Bumer Cup golf tournament and hosting Afternoon Teas. So the will be ve
much missed and their support to the charity is very much appreciated. i However, for the charity to reach out moro to the needs and support required by carers of people living with dementia the Trustees decided to search for new premises and vlewedlconsidered a number of venues in the Crawley and surrounding districL In February 2023 the Trustee3 agreed to sL7rt planning to move the Frlday Lunch session to Tilgate Community Centre, which offers so much more space and opportunities. Crawley Rugby Club was also Identlfied as an ideal location to hold the Tuesday night support where It is hoped that our affiliation with the club will help to improve the charity's profile in the ¢ommunity. The site will also be used for Afternoon Tea$ and hopefully other fundraising events. Both these premises will give us tho abillty to reach out to more member3 of the Gommunty wlth additional activities, enhanced i $UPPOrt and food that is signlfi¢antly more nourishing for the members. The relocation to both sites occurred in April 2023. None of Ihl$ deters the Trustees from thelr most cherished goal to locate to Suitable premises of our own from whFch we could scale up the service we already provide and help to support so many more carers in the local community that we know ar6 out there.
