WINGS Activities in the last financial year for the Charity Commission Report

WINGS purpose is to help grow others in their faith and facilitate activities that expand the Kingdom of God.

Early in the year WINGS held a Christchurch event that attracted nearly 120 people and a leaders’ meeting in Hunmanby which was attended by 45 people.

God is strategically placing people in the Whitby area. Rob and Jo have an area of 50 square miles that they cover and there are several new Christian leaders who want charismatic worship and are keen to get involved.

Steve is now connecting into the Guisborough Deanery and WINGS has connections in Alnwick (Bob and Mary) bridging Middlesborough to Alnwick. Berwick on Tweed is also now opening up.

In May, Steve started two WINGS projects. Every 2[nd] Sunday he runs a group called Disciples which helps people embrace what it means to be a disciple. Every 4[th] Sunday he takes a team out which involves activities such as prayer walking, healing on the streets, café bible study.

WINGS held an Awakening the Coastlands at Pentecost and a further one on the 16[th] June at St Stephens.

WINGS has a vision to help people pray and fast and focus on God on a regular basis. Joining the Dots meetings are run to encourage people to participate in this and each day of the month is covered in prayer and fasting. Rob held a Joining the Dots meeting at Beverley for the East Riding of Yorkshire on the 21[st] of June, and there was a follow up Joining the Dots meeting at Hunmanby for the Scarborough/Filey/Bridlington area on the 13[th] July.

Rob has bi-monthly meetings on zoom on Monday evening with German prayer leaders and they gathered in person in Coventry in September this year.

There have been ‘Prayer For’ events held in Hornsea and Withernsea in May. There was a Celtic prayer meeting at St Hilda’s in Whitby in June and there are now monthly Celtic prayer meetings in St Stephens church, Robinhood Bay.

The Year Ahead .

WINGS is planning further ‘Prayer For’ events including one in Bridlington, possibly in the Priory. Rob also plans to start a regular WINGS zoom prayer meeting.

WINGS aims to have a Women’s Day as well as some more Celtic events, including a Celtic Awakening event.

We are also hoping to arrange a Joining the Dots meeting in Whitby/ Robinhood’s Bay area and hopefully in the Cleveland area.

Rob feels God is looking to a more reflective and monastic form of worship. It is important that we respond to change that God is bringing about.

Key to all our plans is Rob’s health. He is currently struggling to sing and is due to see an ENT surgeon in the next few weeks. He is bringing out a new album next year.
