Trustees’ Annual Report

For the period 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2021

Charity Name: UK Han Culture Association

Charity Number: 1173700

1. Objectives and Activities

The charity’s aim is to share traditional Chinese culture in the UK, especially through the traditional Han Chinese clothing Hanfu.

In accordance with our governing document, the trustees have continued to work toward achieving these objectives and ensuring that all activities provide public benefit as required by the Charities Act 2011.

2. Achievements and Performance

The pandemic has continued to impact our activities during this year. We stopped holding monthly events. Rather, we focused on building an online community.

We started a WeChat (Chinese messaging app) group for members, holding over 300 members throughout the year. Members continue to share culture learning resources, Hanfu fashion outfit-of-the-day (OOTD) pictures, and support each other during the lockdowns.

In October 2021, we held our first ever in-person mini-gathering after the pandemic. Four members took a walk along the Thames River and in Tate Morden museum in Hanfu attire, where our member Meiqing shared with us her knowledge of art and culture.
