The trustees present their report and the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022. CIO information set out on page 1 forms part of this report. The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis. ## **GOVERNING DOCUMENT** The charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) is governed by its Constitution dated 5 July 2017. ## **AIMS AND OBJECTIVES** The object of the CIO is to promote community participation in healthy recreation through the provision of a sports pavilion and associated sports fields in Thornton Dale for the use of the cricket club, football club and other clubs capable of promoting healthy recreation. ## **ACTIVITIES** Each year a Spring Gala is held to raise money for the CIO. Due to COVID 19, no Spring Gala was held in 2020 or spring 2021 but they do plan to hold a Gala on 24 July 2021. The Trustees believe there are sufficient funds in reserves to enable the Charity to continue maintaining the Pavilion and ground and supporting the local clubs that use the facilities for the foreseeable future. The trustees of the CIO have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties. ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** The CIO finished the year with a surplus of £1,039 (2021: Deficit £14,093). Free reserves held at 31 March 2022 were £4,145 (2021: 3,106). Reserves are held in order to maintain the grounds and pavilion. Approved by the trustees on 2022 ----------------------------------------- Alwyn Dudley Smith – Trustee ----------------------------------------- Graham Anthony Hunt - Trustee ## INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ## THORNTON DALE SPORTS ASSOCIATION (TDSA) I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2022 which comprise the receipts and payments account, the statement of assets and liabilities and the related notes. ## **Responsibilities and basis of report** As the CIO's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act'). I report in respect of my examination of the CIO's accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: - Accounting records were not kept in respect of the CIO as required by section 130 of the Act or - the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. There are no related party transactions in either years.
